Week 5 College Football Predictions – Razorbacks Vs Aggies Odds
College Football Odds – Adjustment Too Much To Give Arkansas Razorbacks Against Texas A&M Aggies
Written by Adam Markowitz of North Shore Sports, INC
Our college football odds are posted for Week 5 at Bookmaker Sportsbook, and today, we’re taking a look at the match-up between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Texas A&M Aggies. Check out this Saturday soiree in an old rivalry game that now has new meaning in the SEC West.
The Arkansas Razorbacks ( 1-3, 0-3 ATS ) and the Texas A&M Aggies ( 2-1, 2-1 ATS ) are set to battle one another against the Week 5 college football odds on Saturday, September 29th at 12:20 p.m. ET. The SEC Network and ESPN3.com are going to have live coverage of what should be a great battle from Kyle Field in College Station, TX.
Arkansas Razorbacks: +13.5
Texas A&M Aggies: -13.5
To say that the season has fallen apart for the Razorbacks is a massive understatement. The overtime loss to the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks was the beginning of the end, and QB Tyler Wilson coming out in the media and saying that his team quit against the Alabama Crimson Tide was essentially the Hogs waving the white flag for the year.
However, we will say this when we look at the college football odds with Arkansas. This is still a team that has a heck of a lot of talent. Don’t let all of these losses fool you. Wilson is the real deal, and he has a great set of receivers and backs at his disposal. The problem is that the defense is just atrocious and hasn’t found a way to stop anyone this year, even last week against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, who don’t have anything more than a mediocre offense in the Big East.
Take out the second half against the Florida Gators, and the Aggies have had a heck of a season on the college football gambling odds. QB Johnny Manziel really does look like he is going to be the real deal down the line for A&M. He has 641 yards through the air and 262 on the ground to go with five scores, and Head Coach Kevin Sumlin is trying to really groom his frosh to be one of the best in the SEC.
What we’re really impressed with when we see the Aggies this year though, is their defense. They haven’t had a bad game to date, and they rank #12 in the land in scoring at just 12.3 points per game allowed. If that keeps up, this is a team that is going to beat the college football wagering odds plenty more times this year.
Free Pick – Had this line come out four weeks ago, the Razorbacks would have probably been favored in this game. Arkansas has won three straight in this series, and it has covered seven straight. However, what we are really drawn to is the fact that the average margin of victory in this series since 1985 is just 5.0 points per game, and save for a 28-point victory for the Hogs back in 2009, all of the games have been decided by two touchdowns or fewer, and eight of the 10 have been by seven or fewer.
