The Philadelphia Eagles ( 3-6, 1-7-1 ATS ) may have seen their NFL betting season come to an end with a home loss to Dallas last week, not to mention the coaching tenure of Andy Reid, and look for the losing to continue vs. the Redskins ( 3-6, 4-6 ATS ) on Sunday, November 18th from FedEx Field in Landover, MD at 1:00 ET on FOX.

Now Philadelphia has not been officially eliminated from NFC East title contention thanks to the New York Giants losing two games in a row, but the Eagles have now fallen into a last place tie with these Redskins. Moreover, the Eagles also lost Michael Vick to a concussion in their latest loss, meaning that rookie Nick Foles will be making his first start in this contest.
The Redskins meanwhile have had two weeks to game plan for this game as they are coming off of a bye.

Many people that have been waiting for the Eagles to turn things around simply do not realize that this was probably the most overrated team in the NFL at the beginning of the season, and that Philadelphia is only four points away from being 0-9 straight up this year, so its 1-7-1 record against the NFL betting odds is no fluke. This is simply not a very good football team despite what some experts predicted.
We were never high on Vick as an NFL quarterback, and that has become even truer in recent years now that it the league has become more of a passing league, as Vick’s 58.5 percent completion rate this year will just not cut it in this day and age. Now we would never wish injury on anyone, but perhaps Foles getting a look sooner than expected may turn out to be a good thing.
Granted he looked shaky at times in his NFL debut, but he did end up completing 22-of-32 passes for 219 yards with one touchdown and one interception in less than three quarters. He now gets to make his first start vs. a Washington pass defense that ranks 30th allowing 301.7 passing yards per game.
Still, the bye week could help the Redskins make some adjustments on defense, and although they were game planning for Vick last week, it is easier to go from planning for a mobile quarterback to a pocket quarterback than the other way around, and also keep in mind that the Eagles may have to scale back the playbook for the rookie starter.
The Washington offense has not been much of a problem in NFL betting as it is seventh in the league in total offense, and Robert Griffin III is not the only rookie in the backfield accounting for the improved offense as running back Alfred Morris is proving to be a steal as a sixth-round draft pick.
Free Pick: With the 38-23 loss to the Cowboys, the Eagles may now be ready to pack it in for what is almost certainly a lame duck coach in Reid, so the Redskins are our NFL betting pick to take advantage of a deflated team while coming off of a bye.
