The Cincinnati Bearcats ( 5-1, 3-2 ATS ) and the Louisville Cardinals ( 7-0, 3-4 ATS ) are set to take each other on in NCAA football action on Friday, October 26th at 8:00 p.m. ET. ESPN and Watch ESPN will have live coverage of what should be a great battle on the Week 9 college football odds from Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, KY.
Cincinnati Bearcats: +4.5
Louisville Cardinals: -4.5
It has been a banner season for the Cardinals who check in a perfect 7-0, and they are just five wins away from a spot in the BCS and a perfect regular season. However, they have been a disaster for those making NCAA football betting picks of late, as they have failed to cover three out of four and have made life difficult on themselves at times.
When you really go back and look at it, the South Florida Bulls, Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, Florida International Golden Panthers, and North Carolina Tar Heels all had Louisville dead to rights this year, and one play could have flipped all of those games. That’s no way to try to beat the NCAA football betting odds when you’re the 14th ranked team in the country; though at least it shows the team has moxie with it finding ways to win all the close games.
Cincinnati meanwhile, is coming off of its first loss of the season, a 29-23 loss at the Glass Bowl against the Toledo Rockets.
The quarterback battle in this one is going to feature a pair of inconsistent players. For Louisville, the man of the hour is QB Teddy Bridgewater, and he’ll be going against UC’s QB Munchie Legaux.
Bridgewater was once considered a fringe Heisman Trophy contender, but that has changed as the sophomore’s numbers have slumped. Still, Bridgewater is having a great year, and he is the only reason why the Cards are beating the NCAA football betting lines with any sort of regularity. He has thrown for 1,694 yards and 11 TDs against just three picks.
Legaux has been all over the place in his first full season calling the shots for the Bearcats. He has thrown for 12 TDs, but his five picks all seem to be insanely poorly timed. Legaux has 1,435 yards through the air and 264 more on the ground.
Free Pick – Cincinnati was looking ahead to this game in our opinion, and that’s why the loss to Toledo occurred. Don’t kid yourself about how good those Rockets are either. Going to the Glass Bowl is never easy. In the end, the Bearcats have covered three out of four in this series and have won four in a row from an outright standpoint. The Cards have been living on the edge with so many close wins, and this might finally be the game when they get picked off and the hopes of a perfect season go up in flames.
