NBA Odds – Suns & Rockets to light up the Scoreboard on ESPN Friday Night
Written by North Shore Sports, INC
A crucial Western Conference NBA odds clash is set to go at Bookmaker Sportsbook on Friday night when the Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets each attempt to improve upon their playoff chances.
With the end of the 2011-12 NBA odds regular season fast approaching, Friday, April 13th’s match-up between the Phoenix Suns (30-27, 31-26 ATS) and Houston Rockets (32-25, 31-26 ATS) is chock full of playoff ramifications; take this crucial contest in live from the Toyota Center on ESPN at 8:00 ET.
If the Phoenix Suns are to have any shot at qualifying for the playoffs, they’re going to have to continue playing at their current second half level in their remaining nine games of the regular season. So far, Head Coach Alvin Gentry and his staff have done a wonderful job of late having led their squad to victories in 16 of their 23 games played since the All Star break; they also went on to cover the closing pointspread in 17 of those games. Heading into Hump Day’s clash with the Grizzlies in Memphis, the Suns currently trail the Pacific Division leading Lakers by 5.5-games and sit just one-game out of the Western Conference playoff picture.
Phoenix has been an incredibly lucrative side to back having won and covered seven of their L/10 overall NBA odds games played; they were dogged in six of those contests. They’ll invade Memphis winners of two in a row after taking out the Lakers at home and Timberwolves on the road. The win at Minnesota was extremely impressive with them coming off a split against the Nuggets and Lakers on back-to-back nights. They will have had a full days rest to prepare for this contest and have gone 17-16 SU & 18-15 ATS in that scenario on the year. The Suns have posted 13-16 SU & 15-14 ATS tallies on the road overall (@ MEM pending).
All the talk in the Southwest Division is about how good the Spurs have been and how bad the defending champion Mavericks have looked throughout the second half of the season. Well, that’s all fine and dandy for an up and coming Rockets outfit that would love nothing more than to continue flying under the radar until the second season begins. Head Coach Kevin McHale and his staff have done a wonderful job overlooking the Rockets talent in their first go round, and like tonight’s opponent, have been an exceptional second half team having gone 11-6 SU & ATS over the course of their L/17 games played.
They’ll enter Wednesday night’s home clash with a desperate Utah Jazz outfit winners of four in a row both SU & against the closing NBA betting odds. Those wins were all tallied on the road against the Bulls, Lakers, Kings, and Trailblazers; they were dogged in three of the four! In doing so, the Rockets now hold the #6 seed in the West 1.5-games in back of the 5th seeded Grizzlies and a half-game in front of the 7th seeded Mavericks. Houston dropped its latest home game in overtime against Indiana, which marked the third time in the last four games that they played to an extra session in front of the hometown faithful. Goran Dragic and his mates check in 20-8 SU & 18-10 ATS as a host on the year (vs. UTAH pending).
NBA Odds Selection – As well as both of these teams are playing and with so much on the line, it’s nearly impossible to pick a winner. However, the recent series has seen the ‘under’ cash each of the L/4 times these teams hooked up. With playoff positioning on the line however, and the fact that all three of this season’s battles came in comfortably ‘under’ the closing number, we’re expecting a weak ‘total’ to be released. The ‘over’ is 5-2 the L/7 times the Suns were dogged, and the Rockets have played to the ‘over’ in seven of their L/9 home games. We expect this one to crawl ‘over’ the closing number!
Will the final meeting of the regular season play out to the low scoring snoozers the first three games did, or will both the Suns and Rockets bring some offense to this crucial NBA odds clash? Whichever side of the number you plan to back in this match-up, be sure to do so over at Bookmaker Sportsbook – Where the Line Originates!
