NBA Lines – Milwaukee Bucks to Protect their House against Boston Thursday Night
Written by North Shore Sports, INC
Two teams looking to improve upon their Eastern Conference standings are set to battle one another against the NBA lines at Bookmaker Sportsbook when the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks go at it Thursday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks (20-24, 21-23 ATS) will attempt to protect their house against the Boston Celtics (24-21, 20-25 ATS) and even up the regular season series when the teams collide on Thursday, March 22nd; tip-off from the Bradley Center is set for 8:00 ET on NBA TV.
The Celtics held pat at the trade deadline deciding to hold onto stud point guard Rajon Rondo and not add anything into the mix of this aging squad. Whether that was the right decision remains to be seen, but one thing for certain is the Celtics have plenty of work to do if they are to qualify for the postseason for the fifth straight season. As it is right now, they trail the Philadelphia 76ers by 1.5-games for the top spot in the Atlantic Division and are clinging onto the 7th seed in the East 1.5-games in back of the 5th seeded Atlanta Hawks and three-games ahead of the 8th seeded New York Knicks.
They put an end to their mini two-game losing streak their last time out after rattling off a 13-0 run late in their game with Atlanta to topple the Hawks by a 79-76 final count as two-point underdogs. The win moved them to 8-13 SU & ATS away from Boston on the year. Four Celtics registered scoring in double-digits with Ray Allen’s 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting leading the way. The triumph also halted their NBA betting lines losing streak at three in a row after covering their previous three.
The Bucks were anything but quiet at the trade deadline sending both Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson to the Golden State Warriors for scoring threat Monta Ellis. That should only help aid the team’s offense that’s averaged 97.5 points per game (#11) heading into Tuesday night’s road clash against a struggling Portland Trailblazers outfit. If only the team can now improve upon the 98.7 PPG it’s given up on a nightly basis, the Bucks might be able to punch their ticket to the playoffs after a year hiatus.
Milwaukee will have had three-days off heading into that match-up after disposing of the Golden State Warriors by a 120-98 final tally as 1.5-point favorites last Friday night. Ellis went for 18 points in his first game as a member of the Bucks and was one of six overall double-digit scorers. The outright win was the team’s fifth in a row and moved them to a season’s best 7-0 ATS in their L/7 NBA lines tussles. Milwaukee’s won 11 of its 20 home games on the year, but has only split those games ATS (10-10).
NBA Lines Prediction: Boston will have had full two days to rest their aging bones for this contest; its 1-2 SU & ATS in under scenario this season. The C’s won these teams first meeting of the year taking it by a 102-96 final count but failed to cover the 6.5-point closing spread. Though Milwaukee has lost four of its L/5 versus Boston, it covered four of those contests. If Coach Skiles’ squad is to qualify for the playoffs this season, it’s going to have to beat the teams at the lower end of the standings. We like for them to do just that here and take advantage of a Celtics outfit that’s struggled away from Beantown all season long.
