MLB Odds – Boston Red Sox To Continue Slump Against New York Yankees
Written by North Shore Sports, Inc.
Our MLB odds are always posted at Bookmaker Sportsbook, and today, we’re taking a look at another great FOX Saturday Baseball clash. The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will kick off yet another great duel between bitter AL East rivals on Saturday.
The New York Yankees (6-6, -$259) and the Boston Red Sox (4-8, -$450) are set to tango on Saturday, April 21st at 4:05 ET from Fenway Park in Boston, MA. We’re breaking down the MLB odds for this clash, which can be seen live on FOX.
Fenway Park turns 100 years old on Friday night, just in time for the Yankees to come to town to take on their hated rivals from Beantown. That being said, this clash on the MLB betting odds a day later could be ugly for the hosts.
Boston just hasn’t looked good this year at in dropping eight of its first 12 games, and it is getting absolutely nothing out of its pitching. The team has an ERA over a touchdown this year, and part of the problem has been the performance of Felix Doubront, the man that is going to be on the bump come Saturday afternoon.
Doubront might turn into a good pitcher at some point down the line, but at just 24 years old, he still looks a bit lost on the mound. This year, the Venezuelan has a 5.40 ERA in his 10.0 innings of work, and batters are hitting .310 against him. The team has won both of his starts, making him the only starting pitcher on the staff to have a positive money mark on the year (+$200); but he hasn’t earned the win in either game.
That being said, when we break down the MLB gambling odds in this one, we don’t see a lot out of Freddy Garcia either. He is the hurler that is projected to get the ball from Manager Joe Girardi in this one. Garcia knows that he is pitching for his spot in the rotation and that at this point, he has to be considered the odd man out when Michael Pineda is ready to come off of the DL. He is 0-1 with a 6.97 ERA this year, and his velocity is way down with the radar gun rarely hitting 90 MPH.
MLB Betting Pick – With both of these pitchers being shaky at best, we expect to see a lot of runs on Saturday. If that’s the case, we trust the New York bullpen, and we trust names like Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, and Derek Jeter a heck of a lot more than the guys that the Sox are throwing out there. Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford are still out, and Kevin Youkilis still really can’t hit the backside of a barn. The Yanks have won three out of four in this series dating back to last year, and though they stand just 6-14 in their last 20 clashes with the Red Sox, we think they’re poised for a great series here in Beantown.
