MLB Lines – Los Angeles Dodgers To Finish Off Series Against St. Louis Cardinals
Written by Adam Markowitz of North Shore Sports, INC
The action on the diamond is back here at Bookmaker Sportsbook, and we are eager to dive right into another affair in the National League. The Los Angeles Dodgers will take on the St. Louis Cardinals, and we think that we have the perfect action plan for beating the MLB lines for this Thursday night clash.
There is a decent chance that the Dodgers and the Cardinals are going to be fighting it out against one another in the playoffs, and this could be a preview of the NLCS.
LA has been playing tremendous baseball of course, as the team has won 32-of-40 games on the .
LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu is going to be on the bump on Thursday night in the Gateway to the West. Ryu has guided the Dodgers to seven straight wins, though he hasn”t always been at his best in those games. He allowed 11 hits in just 5.2 innings of work in his last start against the Chicago Cubs, and he allowed nine runs in two starts on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays and the Arizona Diamondbacks. That said, the team continues to pick Ryu up time and time again.
It”s not like the lefty has been slacking all season long by any stretch of the imagination. Ryu has led the team to a 15-6 record on the MLB gambling lines, and he is 10-3 with a 3.15 ERA for the season.
The are still in a chase position in the NL Central, and they are in the midst of a horrid stretch of schedule that has included games against the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, and now the Dodgers.
RHP Jake Westbrook is going to be making his 17th start of the season on the MLB wagering lines on Thursday. Westbrook is one of the weaker links in this St. Louis rotation at this point, as he is 7-6with a 3.48 ERA. He certainly isn”t slacking by any stretch of the imagination, but he hasn”t been nearly as dominating as, say RHP Adam Wainwright.
Do keep an eye on the “over” in this one as well. Ryu is 13-7-1 for “over” bettors this year, while Westbrook has guided “over” bettors to a 12-4 mark in his 16 outings.
Free Pick – The Dodgers had won 15 games in a row on the road before losing on Tuesday night, and there is no reason whatsoever to stop backing them. If the oddsmakers stay true to form from the first few games in this series, LA is going to be the underdog team, and we don”t see any reason for that. The underdog team has won four straight in this series going into play on Wednesday night, and we think that will continue on Thursday.
