Hopes are high for the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4, 6-8 ATS) and St. Louis Rams (2-12, 2-11-1 ATS) in Week 16, as they get set to face off at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA. The Steelers had their chance to move into the top spot of the AFC, but they let that chance slip away when they were beaten handily on the NFL betting lines on Monday Night Football by the San Francisco 49ers. Now, they are still stuck in the #5 seed in the AFC, and they are going to need a combination of two wins and Baltimore Ravens losses in the next two weeks to win the AFC North and to be in the running for a first round bye in the playoffs.

That being said, until Ben Roethlisberger is truly healthy, it is going to be a hard road for Pittsburgh to win games. He has been dealing with an ankle injury for a few weeks, and he really had a tough time gritting through the game with San Fran, going just 25-of-44 for 330 yards with no scores and three picks.

However, the Rams aren’t in a heck of a lot better shape either. They are just a 2-12 team, and they are in the running once again for the #1 pick in the NFL Draft. Both Sam Bradford and AJ Feeley sat out last week’s loss against the Cincinnati Bengals, and Kellen Clemens played admirably in their place. That being said, we know that this team isn’t beating the NFL gambling lines all that often with Clemens, who was just picked up last week, calling the shots, and getting one of these quarterbacks healthy later in the week is going to be key.

Steven Jackson has had another frustrating season playing with a team that just isn’t all that good. He has 966 yards on the ground and needs 34 yards against arguably the stoutest run defense in the league to reach 1,000 yards for the seventh straight season.

NFL Lines Pick - The Steelers have failed to cover back to back games, while the Rams are just 0-4-1 ATS in their last five. That being said, this is a short week for Pittsburgh with just five days separating the two games. This isn’t going to be a pretty spot for either team to play in, and with that the case, we want as many points as we can get in our back pocket for this one. The Steelers have failed to cover all three games this year in which they were favored by 10 or more; look for that streak to extend by one in Week 16!
