In spite of the fact that both of these teams are just 5-7 on the year, the winner of this one on the NFL betting lines might be just one game back of playoff spot with three games to play. There are essentially five teams that are fighting for two playoff spots right now, and one of those slots will go to the AFC West winner. There is a hoard of teams that check in at 5-7 SU that can still make a move though, especially since the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, and Oakland Raiders all have difficult games this week.

Buffalo has really been floundering, though, and it is going to be hard to see how this team can win out to at least challenge for a postseason bid. The Bills didn’t win a game in the month of November, and their last win that wasn’t in Toronto came back on October 9th. The Bills haven’t won a road game all year long, and clearly, if that doesn’t change, they aren’t going to qualify for the postseason.

The ground game has been adequate with CJ Spiller, but things just aren’t the same without Fred Jackson back there. Jackson was nearly a 1,000 yard rusher, and he had a chance to win the league’s rushing title this year if he were to stay healthy, and the Buffalo offense has only averaged 16.3 points per game over its last three battles on the NFL gambling lines since he got hurt.

San Diego finally broke its six-game losing streak on Monday Night Football last week with a 38-14 romp over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bolts were down 14-10 at the two minute warning of the first half, and they went on to score 28 unanswered points in arguably their best stretch of football of the entire season.

It was also the best game of the year for the much maligned Philip Rivers who threw for three TDs and no picks, and he posted season highs in completion percentage (78.6%) and QB rating (146.1) in the victory.

NFL Lines Pick – Though this is typically the time of year that the Chargers hit the gas pedal, we just don’t know if we trust them to lay a TD against a very comparable team. Buffalo is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games as underdogs of less than double digits, and it is 10-4 ATS in its last 14 games played on grass. There might not be an upset in the cards, but Buffalo is certainly the right side with a healthy amount of points in your back pocket.
