There might not be a more feared team in NFL betting action right now than the Ravens. They simply played a remarkable game last week against the defending AFC champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and if they can play like that the whole season, they’re going to be the team to beat in the AFC.
The defense was just downright awesome this past week, picking up four sacks, forcing four fumbles and recovering all four, while picking off QB Ben Roethlisberger three times. The rush defense kept RB Rashard Mendenhall down for the game’s entirety save for just one 23 yard scamper.
We also have to wonder what RB Ray Rice is going to have the ability to do against some of the lesser defenses in the league. He had 107 rushing yards and 42 receiving yards, picking up a TD both on the ground and through the air in his first game of the season. It’s clear that the pickup of FB Vonta Leach has made a huge difference in the Ravens’ rushing attack, and once OL Bryant McKinnie figures out his teammates, this could be a dominating blocking force.
QB Joe Flacco also dominated against the NFL betting odds in Week 1, accounting for 224 yards and three TDs versus a defense that’s plagued him over the course of his career.
Meanwhile, Tennessee has all sorts of problems to work out. The 14 points scored against the Jacksonville Jaguars was nothing to write home about, especially knowing that seven of those points were scored on a rather fluky long TD pass to WR Kenny Britt. There is a real question as to how long QB Matt Hasselbeck can stick around as a starter in this league, especially since he only went 21-of-34 for 263 yards against a questionable defense. Without that 80 yard TD pass though, the Titans would have had just over 200 yards of offense. We can’t imagine how hard this is going to be against the Ravens.
NFL Betting Picks - The NFL betting spreads are getting large already in Week 2 of the season, but it is clear that there are haves and have nots. Tennessee is most certainly a have not, and though it is a big underdog at home, we have no choice but to fade it.
