New Orleans is both 3-1 in the standings and against the NFL gambling odds this season; the O/U has played to an even 2-2 mark through the first four weeks. However, New Orleans is just 2-9 ATS in its last 11 games against teams with a losing record and 4-9 ATS in its last 13 versus teams from the NFC South.

So maybe this Cam Newton guy will work out for the Carolina Panthers after all. Don’t be fooled by his individual success, however. Yes, Newton continues to rewrite the record books with his throwing arm, but the Heisman winner is far from pleased. “Obviously, it hurts when I lose, but it’s not just me. We have guys on your team that you know they have given it all they got. For me, to some degree, I felt like I let some teammates down.”

Carolina (1-3) has an inverted 3-1 NFL gambling record ATS this season, as does the ‘over’.
