The offense ranks in the top 10 in both running (#9 at 122.8 YPG) and passing (#6 at 293.4 YPG) the pigskin, but has had a tough time converting the yardage into points evidenced by the unit’s poor 17.3 yards per point average. Defensively, San Diego has been great defending the pass (#2 at 179.6 YPG) but woeful in limiting opposing ground attacks (#17 at 113.6 YPG), so it should expect a heavy dose of LT and Shonn Greene in this Week 7 NFL gambling lines clash.

Coach Rex Ryan’s squad returned home from a three-game road trip with their tail between their legs after failing to win or cover any of their three match-ups against the Raiders, Ravens and Patriots. Though the nationally televised match-up with Miami was tough to watch, the Jets managed to get the job done by upending the Dolphins 24-6 to send their backers back to the betting window winners. The win snapped the team’s three-game losing streak and moved them to 1-1 SU within the AFC East.

San Diego possesses a (-5) turnover margin, ranks amongst the bottom of the league in red zone defense and offense, and has barely put any pressure on opposing QBs all season long. Do those deficiencies sound like a team that should be favored in NY against a Jets team that’s +3 in the turnover department, has 17 sacks, and possesses advantages in the red zone on both sides of the ball? We think not, and to top it off, the Jets are 2-0 SU & ATS the L/2 times they were home dogs up to three points. Look for the home team to make SD’s second trip to the east coast just as sobering as the first!
