Atlanta’s been an extremely tough team to gauge at the outset of the season. It all started with a head scratching 30-12 defeat at Soldier Field and was then followed up with a highly entertaining 35-31 outright home win and NFL betting cover against Philadelphia. They then looked listless in a three-point loss at Tampa Bay, and though it won 30-28 last week in Seattle, it almost choked away a 27-7 halftime lead.

The main problem offensively has been the team’s inability to run the football. RB Michael Turner has only rushed for 304 yards to date making the 99.8 YPG the Falcons have averaged check in as the 19th best mark in the league; that was hardly the case a year ago. On top of that, the O-Line has forced Ryan to run around with his head cut off on passing plays having allowed 13 QB sacks. Defensively, they’ve been picked apart via the pass (#24 at 275.5 YPG) and are yet to try and defend a field general quite the caliber of an Aaron Rodgers. On top of that, they’ve gotten no pressure on opposing QBs managing just five overall sacks; Red Alert! Red Alert!

NFL Betting Prediction – Even though the Packers went off the board as one-point underdogs in these teams playoff battle a year ago, we have no reservations at all laying the chalk in this spot; even with Ryan’s exceptional 19-2 SU & 15-6 ATS marks in the dome in the regular season.
