From the Golden Coast to the Midwestern plains and everywhere in between, Bookmaker Sportsbook has you covered with the best NFL betting action for Sunday, September 25th, and everyday throughout the 2011 season, including the AFC West clash featuring the Chargers and Chiefs from Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. CBS will handle the national television broadcast starting at 4:05 ET as the Chiefs look to earn their first win of the season as enormous underdogs.

San Diego heads into Sunday as a steady 14.5-point NFL betting favorite while the game’s total rests at 45.

For Chargers signal caller, Philip Rivers, perhaps taking down former Patriot Matt Cassel and the Chiefs will be easier than defeating current Pat’s All-Pro quarterback, Tom Brady. Rivers has never beaten Brady, and last Sunday in New England was no exception as San Diego watched its record fall to an even 1-1 on the season thanks to a 35-21 loss in Foxboro. Rivers threw a pair of interceptions and was credited with one of San Diego’s two fumbles in the loss.

“They obviously got points (almost) every time they were down (near the goal line) and didn’t turn it over and, obviously, we did,” said Rivers, who finished 29-40 for 378 yards and two touchdowns. “That was the difference in the game.” Chargers receiver, Vincent Jackson, made his presence felt in the loss, however, catching 10 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson could be in for another monster performance against the depleted Chiefs secondary as well.

San Diego (1-1) remains winless against the NFL betting odds in 2011 (0-2 ATS) while the O/U has played to a 1-1 mark. Though the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between the two teams, San Diego is just 2-8 ATS in its last ten games as a favorite of 10.5 points or greater. The ‘under’ is a perfect 5-0 in the Chargers’ last five games as a home favorite.

The season is just two weeks old, but it’s pretty safe to say that it’s going to be a long season in Kansas City this year. The Chiefs are banged up and bruised, and opposing offenses have had a field day against their defense, racking up 89 points in weeks one and two combined; Kansas City has scored just 10 points and ranks dead last in the NFL in passing yardage.

Though Kansas City is in the league’s top ten when it comes to rushing yardage, the Chiefs were dealt a major blow last week when starting back, Jamaal Charles, was carted off the field midway through the first quarter against Detroit. “Even when Charles wasn’t in the game, it appeared to me that we still had opportunities to make things happen and we weren’t able to do that,” KC head coach Todd Haley said. Charles tore his ACL and will miss the entire season, leaving the rushing duties to Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster.

Kansas City (0-2) has yet to win a game in the standings or against the NFL betting lines this season (0-2 ATS); the ‘over’ however, has paid out in both of KC’s games this year (2-0). The Chiefs are just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games in San Diego and 0-5 ATS in their last five games against AFC West opponents.
