The Vikings have some big problems this week once again that really make us wonder whether they can beat the NFL betting lines in this one or not. Michael Jenkins was put on IR this past week with a knee injury that he suffered in the loss against the Atlanta Falcons, while one of the newly emerging top targets for Christian Ponder, TE Kyle Rudolph continues to have problems with his quadriceps and might not be ready to go come Sunday.

Of course, the real injury of note though, is the high ankle sprain of Adrian Peterson. Peterson is one of the most dynamic backs in the league, and he has some huge shoes to fill if he can’t play for a second straight week. Toby Gerhart, the second year man out of Stanford, had just 44 yards last Sunday, but he did find the end zone. Percy Harvin, a wide receiver that had some experience in the backfield at the University of Florida, was completely ineffective as a running back.

Speaking of completely ineffective, that’s what the passing game looks like for the Broncos. It remains baffling how Tim Tebow has beaten the NFL gambling lines in five of his six starts this year, and we just don’t understand how this team is only a game back of both the Cincinnati Bengals and the Oakland Raiders for a spot in the AFC playoffs.

Tebow just has this knack of finding ways to get the job done in the fourth quarter as well as overtime. That “It Factor” seems to outweigh the fact that he is only completing 45.5 percent of his passes and is averaging a dreadful 5.96 yards per pass attempt. However, to his credit, Tebow has only turned the ball over one time this year.

Head Coach John Fox is content to punt the ball as many times as he needs to in order to win games, and he just tries to keep games close with his solid defense in the fourth quarter, when Tebow just seems to kick it into another gear.

NFL Lines Pick – We’ve learned our lesson. We just can’t go against Tebow at this point, especially knowing that he is playing against a team that really isn’t all that great. In a revival of the old FSU/Florida rivalry between Tebow and Ponder, the former Gator will rule the day come Sunday.
