Last season was yet another trying one for the Aggies, but they did definitely show some signs of life, making us wonder whether they will challenge for successful college football WAC picks in conference play this year. The team marched into Norman in Week 1 in 2010 and nearly walked out with a huge upset, losing 31-24 as 34 point pups. Now, the mountain isn’t quite so high, though these are the defending National Champions on the other side of the field.

There is still a mystery floating around at the QB position for Utah State, as both Adam Kennedy and Chuckie Keeton are trying to replace the departed Diondre Borel. There is a lot of hope that this year’s team is going to be able to put up points in bunches and make for great college football odds picks thanks to the return of WR Stanley Morrison, who missed all of last season with an ankle injury. Watch out for the likes of WR Dontel Watkins and WR Eric Moats as well. RB/WR Kerwynn Williams will line up all over the field and do just about everything for the Aggies to boot.

Of course, the champs are still the heavy favorites in this one, and for good reason. Sure, QB Cam Newton is gone, and with him likely go any chances of this team coming anywhere near challenging for a big time bowl game, but it’s not like the cupboard is completely dry from a year ago.

RBs Michael Dyer and Onterio McCalebb combined for nearly 2,000 rushing yards a season ago, and both are going to be counted upon heavily this year if Auburn is going to make a run in the SEC at any point. Utah State ranked No. 88 in the nation against the run last season, something that certainly has these two backs salivating to hit the field.

College Football Betting Picks – Still, we just aren’t sold that Auburn’s revamped offense without Newton is going to be good enough to beat most teams by more than three TDs. A solid 16 point win is good enough to keep the Auburn boosters happy, and it is good enough to give us a cover with a team on the rise. Back the Aggies!
