NCAA Football Betting Odds
Boise State Broncos (-41) -110
UNLV Runnin’ Rebels (+41) -110
Over/Under 59.5
The 5th ranked Boise State Broncos will have had two weeks to prepare for the program’s first meeting with the Runnin’ Rebels on the gridiron in over 30 years after being on bye in Week 9. Head coach Chris Petersen’s kids are one of just five overall teams with perfect records after securing their seventh win of the season in a non-covering effort at home against the Air Force back on October 22nd. The Broncos stand a perfect 4-0 SU & in CFB betting lines action away from the Smurf Turf to date beating the likes of Georgia, Toledo, Fresno State and Colorado State by an average of nearly 35 PPG.
QB Kellen Moore once again finds himself in line for winning the Heisman Trophy throwing for 2010 yards and a whopping 24 TD passes to just five interceptions. The Broncos offense ranks 12th in total offense (488 YPG) and 7th in points scored (43.3 PPG). Defensively, the squad has locked down opposing passing games giving up an average of just 166.1 YPG, and with the Rebels one of the worst offenses in the country (#116 at 278.6 YPG), it could be an extremely long night for the silver and red.
Though UNLV owns a pair of outright wins as underdogs against Hawaii and Colorado State this season, there have been a number of head scratching losses incurred by the Rebs heading into this match-up. A 59-7 pounding at the hands of an erratic Wazzou squad in Week 2 was bad, but not nearly as unacceptable as the team’s 41-16 home defeat against Southern Utah whom they were favored to beat by 10-points on the CFB betting odds.
They did pick up a 38-35 win over Colorado State last week at home out of their bye, but the Broncos went into Fort Collins and handed the Rams an embarrassing 63-13 defeat in the middle of October. Other similar competition saw the Rebels fail to tally a point in a 37-0 loss at Nevada, while the Broncos beat the Wolfpack by 20 at Bronco Stadium. Needless to really point out, but these team’s overall abilities seem to be on entirely different levels.
CFB Betting Prediction – UNLV is 0-11 SU & 2-9 ATS against the L/11 +.500 opponents it’s faced, and is just 1-3 ATS the L/4 times it went off the board an underdog of 31 points or more. Though Boise State has been a cash cow for CFB bettors each of the L/3 seasons, it hasn’t been as lucrative in 2011. That said; the “MO” of the Broncos to date has been to coast at home and go on scoring rampages on the road. BSU is 21-5 ATS its L/26 away from Boise and has handled all opposition with ease to date; tonight should be no different!
