Pittsburgh (5-6, 6-5 ATS) was eliminated from contention to win the Big East when it blew a CFB betting lead at West Virginia last week, so while the Panthers may be the better team, their lack of emotion should allow Syracuse (5-6, 3-8 ATS) to hang within single-digits at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, December 3rd at 12:00 Noon ET in a game televised on ESPN2 & ESPN3.com.

Then again, Sunseri probably lost his chance at a successful season when the Panthers lost one of the very best running backs in the country in Ray Graham for the season to a knee injury. Without the support of Graham and the Pitt running game, Sunseri’s deficiencies have become more apparent.

Now the Syracuse offense is very ordinary, averaging 24.5 points and 348.5 total yards per game in its CFB betting match-ups, and the defense has gotten progressively worse as the season has moved along. That said, the Orange are still allowing a commendable 3.7 yards per rush, and without Graham to worry about, they can concentrate on stopping the pass here without committing extra support to stopping the run.

With Sunseri struggling vs. teams that have successfully mixed pass coverages, look for Syracuse to employ that approach to keep itself in this contest.
