From Lake Michigan to the Land of 10,000 Lakes and everywhere in between, Bookmaker Sportsbook has you covered with the most NFL wagering opportunities for Sunday, October 16th, and everyday throughout the 2011 season, including the NFC North showdown featuring the Bears and Vikings from Soldier Filed in Chicago. NBC will broadcast the nationally televised contest starting at 8:20 ET.

Though Chicago continues to struggle, the Bears open as a -3 point home favorite with the total resting at 41.5.

Boy, it sure seemed like the Minnesota Vikings were sick of being winless on the season, didn’t it? Without wasting any time, Minnesota ran out to an early 28-0 first quarter lead against the visiting Arizona Cardinals and never looked back as “All Day” Adrian Peterson collected 122 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikings’ 34-10 win. “It felt good just to get a ‘W’ first and foremost and get out of this slump. It was a good test for us, and we did what we’ve been preaching,” said a relieved yet confident Peterson.

Quarterback Donovan McNabb didn’t wow the home crowd by any means, but what did it matter? This game was won in the first 15 minutes and all McNabb had to do was manage for the final three quarters; the former Eagle and Redskin finished 10-21 for 169 yards. “I don’t worry about it all, because at the end of the day you look up and you see a win,” McNabb said. “We’re excited about it.” Minnesota should also be excited about its defense, which reemerged to force four Arizona turnovers last Sunday.

Minnesota is just 1-4 this season but at least the Vikings own a 2-2-1 mark against the NFL wagering spread; the ‘under’ has played 3-2 so far this season. Minnesota has gone a dismal 4-10 ATS in its last 14 road games and 0-5-1 ATS in its last six against NFC North opponents. The Vikes are also 1-7 ATS in their last eight games against division rival Chicago.

At the rate that the Chicago Bears are going, quarterback Jay Cutler is not going to live to see another season under center. Cutler endured too long and too tough of a season last year, being sacked most in the league as the Bears fell to the Packers in the NFC Championship Game, and the former Vanderbilt Commodore continues to get pressured and knocked down this season thanks to new yet ineffective personnel on Mike Tice’s offensive line.

Under heavy pressure from perhaps the best defensive line in the league, Cutler kept the Bears in Monday night’s NFC North contest at Detroit, but Chicago ended up falling to Matthew Stafford and the Lions regardless, 24-13. Chicago finished with 14 penalties in the loss, nine of which were false starts due to the volume level at Ford Field. That’s not a valid excuse for the Bears’ loss and Lovie Smith admitted it, but Bears fans are sick and tired of the head coach’s monotone reactions after the Monsters of the Midway get beat up and down the field week after week.

Chicago (2-3) is just 1-4 against the NFL wagering odds this season while the ‘under’ has played to a 3-2 tally. Though the Bears are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall and their last four against NFC opposition, the home team is 5-1 ATS in the Bears’ last six games against the Vikings. The ‘over’ is also 4-1 in the teams’ last five games in the Windy City.
