Way back in Week 1 on the first Monday Night Football battle of the season, the Patriots and the Dolphins combined for a whopping 62 points. New England had over 600 yards of offense, and Tom Brady threw for what still amounts to be a league season-high 517 yards and four touchdowns.

Since that point, both teams definitely changed a bit, but then resorted back to the form they exhibited at the beginning of the year.

New England looked like it was a team that was going to crush the NFL betting odds all season long. It did start off at 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS, but it was beaten in two straight games around the end of October and beginning of November, and it looked like the offense just didn’t seem like the same one at the outset of the season.

The Dolphins showed that they had at least the potential to put some points on the board in that first game. For the next six weeks, the team failed to beat the NFL gambling odds and never put up more than 17 points in a game.

However, the Brady Bunch is back to its old ways, scoring at least 31 points in six straight games, going 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS during that stretch, while the Dolphins again look like they have potential after going 5-2 SU and 6-1 ATS in their last seven.

Again, the potential seems there for a slew of points. Miami’s quarterback has changed and is now Matt Moore, but the points have still been put on the board. The Fins have played two of their last three games beyond the ‘total’ on the NFL wagering odds thanks to scoring at least 30 points in two of the three, and they have scored at least 30 in four of their last six as well.

NFL Odds Prediction – Simply put, the potential is definitely there for this game to get into the 60s. We don’t see a way that Brady doesn’t put at least 30 on the board in this game, and with the way that Miami has played lately, we don’t see the Dolphins merely just lying down and dying. Three straight games have gone past the ‘total’ in this AFC East rivalry, and we see no reason why that won’t remain the case on Christmas Eve.
