The Saints may be having some defensive issues, but Drew Brees and company can score on anyone, as they have put up 30 points or more in all three games thus far. Now the Saints are averaging just 99.7 rushing yards per game, but they have done so on a good 4.2 yards per carry, suggesting that they can run the ball if they really wanted to but have preferred to rely on the arm of Brees instead, and his track record proves that to be a wise decision.

New Orleans is facing a Jacksonville defense that is allowing just 280 total yards per game on an excellent 3.4 yards per rush and 6.4 yards per pass, but we simply do not trust those numbers on the NFL betting odds considering that all the Jags did was shut down the Tennessee Titans and then Carolina last week while allowing 32 points to the only decent offense they faced, the New York Jets.

Besides, Houston had fantastic defensive numbers before last week, and all that the Saints offense did was put up 40 points and 454 total yards.

The Achilles Heel for the Saints in NFL betting right now and perhaps for the rest of the season is the defense, which is allowing 29.3 points and 372.7 yards per game. However, the Jaguars have been putrid on the offensive side of the ball averaging a disgusting 9.7 points and 264.3 total yards, and they did not look any better with prized rookie Blaine Gabbert under center last week.

We do not think that the home field advantage will help Jacksonville much if at all here, as nobody can stop the New Orleans offense right now and we see no possible way for the dreadful Jaguars’ offense to keep pace.
