In Week 14, the Texans were absolutely on Cloud Nine. They were able to take down the Cincinnati Bengals on the road, and they ended up clinching their first AFC South title in team history. However, for as great as Week 14 was, Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers was a tremendous disaster. They were beaten 28-13 in a game that really was never all that close, and it was a harsh reminder that this is still a team that is playing with its third string quarterback, and it is going to need a lot of luck to do well versus the NFL betting odds in the postseason.

Hopes for the #1 seed in the AFC probably went up in flames, but certainly not all is lost. A victory will ensure that the team will at least have the #3 seed and would avoid either the Pittsburgh Steelers or Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the playoffs. A first round bye definitely isn’t out of the question either.

Meanwhile, Indy is on a high right now after snagging its first win of the season against the Tennessee Titans at home last week. It was really the best of both worlds for the Colts, as they were able to pick up their victory to avoid the possibility of a 0-16 season, and they were also able to stay in line for the top pick in the NFL Draft. Any more victories though, and that will be in question, as both the St. Louis Rams and Minnesota Vikings are still just two win teams and could snare that top pick.

Of course, the fact that the Colts have covered three in a row and that the Texans failed miserably last week at home has majorly changed the course of the NFL betting odds in this game. Just two weeks ago, Houston probably would have been favored by double digits, which clearly isn’t the case any longer with this spread being just a touchdown.

NFL Betting Selection – History hasn’t been kind to the Texans here in Indy, as they have never won a game here and are 0-9 SU and 4-5 ATS. They also have never won a game on Thursday Night Football. That all changes this week though, as we think that the compensation that has been made by the oddsmakers is just too large.
