Though Atlanta (0-1) lost its first NFL betting game against the spread (0-1), the ‘over’ (1-0) proved successful in Chicago. The Falcons are also 4-1 ATS in their last five Week 2 games as well as their last five when installed home underdogs.

As much hype was surrounding the Falcons, even more was cast upon the Philadelphia Eagles coming into the year, but unlike Atlanta, Philly posted a win last Sunday, taking down the Rams in St. Louis 31-13. Philly’s 100 million dollar man, Michael Vick, didn’t disappoint either, throwing a pair of touchdowns in the win, but Philly’s other star skill players, running back LeSean McCoy and receiver DeSean Jackson, did their best to steal the show as well.

McCoy tallied 122 rushing yards with a touchdown and also caught a seven yard pass from Vick while Jackson racked up 102 receiving yards and added a touchdown of his own. But it all comes back to Vick, who is finally starting to put his troubled past behind him. “It felt great to know that I can go out and play lights-out, not have to worry about anything,” Vick said.

Philly (1-0) posted its first ATS win (1-0) of the season last week, as did the ‘over’ (1-0). The Eagles are 7-3 ATS in their last ten as a NFL wagering road favorite but just 1-4 ATS in their last five Week 2 contests.
