The standings look upside down for these two teams, as the Eagles fell to 1-3 by blowing a 23-3 lead at home last week while the Bills are coming off of their first loss of the season but still sit at 3-1. We are looking for a correction this week and for Philadelphia to flex its muscles on the NFL lines on Saturday, October 9th from Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, NY at 1:00 ET.

In fact, both of these teams blew big leads in losing both straight up and against the NFL lines last week, as the Eagles were outscored 21-0 by a mediocre San Francisco 49ers team in the final 24 minutes of the game to fall 24-23 and the Bills also blew a 17-3 halftime lead before losing to the lowly Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 on the road.

The Eagles are the much more talented team though, and we simply do not see them losing this game and potentially falling three games out in the NFC East just five games into the season.

Michael Vick looked good vs. the 49ers last week after seeming a bit tentative in his previous two games, so apparently his hand is giving him no problems and he is feeling no after-effects from his concussion. He completed 30 of 46 passes for a career high 416 yards, and he was also the team’s leading rusher with 75 yards on eight scrambles.

That does beg the question though as to what happened to LeSean McCoy? After looking like one of the best running backs in the league over the first three weeks, he rushed for just 18 yards on nine carries, falling prey to both a good San Francisco run defense and some questionable play-calling by Coach Andy Reid.

Reid and the Eagles made it easier for the Niners to come back on the NFL lines by abandoning the run after halftime, making it no wonder that Philadelphia scored its last points with just over nine minutes left in the third quarter. Obviously, the Eagles’ three turnovers did not help either, as they simply lost focus with a 20-point lead.

Well, the Buffalo defense is allowing 405.0 yards per game on 4.9 yards per rush and 7.3 yards per pass attempt. Thus, Vick should have another big game and McCoy should bounce back nicely, so the Eagles should score lots of points if they can protect the ball.

The young Bills were obviously in letdown mode after upsetting the New England Patriots two weeks ago, but we feel that they overachieved on the NFL lines in the early weeks and that a descent back to earth is inevitable. Buffalo has lots of holes on defense and we do not see quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick maintaining his current 96.9 passer rating the whole year.

Look for the Eagles to make a statement with a handy road victory in their Week 5 trip to Buffalo.
