NCAAF Betting Online:
The Ole Miss Rebels and the Fresno State Bulldogs are set to tango on Saturday, October 1st at 9:15 ET at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, CA. We’re breaking down the NCAA football odds for this clash, which can be seen on local television networks.
NCAA Football Odds
Ole Miss Rebels (+4.5)
Fresno State Bulldogs (-4.5)
Over/Under 53.5
Last season, the Bulldogs and Rebels played in one of the more interesting and entertaining clashes on the NCAA football betting odds of the year. Both teams scored 28 points in the second half of what amounted to be a back and forth clash, but in the end, Ole Miss prevailed 55-38 as two-point favorites.
That was really the game that QB Jeremiah Masoli came to play in. He accounted for 227 yards and three TDs, while RB Brandon Bolden had a whopping 228 yards and two scores on the ground on just 19 carries.
All of those pieces to the puzzle are gone now though, and Head Coach Houston Nutt and company are really paying the price. This unit is averaging just 235.0 yards and 18.8 points per game this season, ranking No. 118 and No. 103 in the country respectively. This team also ranks in the bottom 20 in the land in both passing and rushing.
To make matters worse, the offense has only exceeded the 13 point mark in one game this year, and that came against the Southern Illinois Salukis out of the FCS. Needless to say, if the Rebs don’t have plans of scoring more than 13 points this week, they can kiss their chances of beating the NCAA football gambling odds goodbye.
Offense hasn’t been a problem for RB Robbie Rouse and company. He already has 477 yards and four total TDs on the campaign, and QB Derek Carr, brother of Fresno State great, David Carr, already has 1,010 yards passing.
The team ranks No. 53 in the land at 31.2 points per game, and in spite of that 2-2 record, the team has dropped at least 21 on the board in each of its games on the campaign.
The defense for Head Coach Pat Hill is proving to be the Achilles Heel of the club. This unit allowed 78 points combined in its first two games on the NCAA football wagering odds this year, and though things have gotten a tad better, there’s still no excuse to give up 46 total points against the North Dakota Fighting Sioux and the Idaho Vandals.
NCAA Football Odds Predictions – That being said, at least Fresno has its offense that it can always turn to. The Rebels haven’t been able to get the job done against a relatively weak schedule to start the year, and we see no reason for that to change this week. Stick with Fresno State to get its payback for last year’s loss in Oxford.
