From the sweeping plains to the Southwestern desert and everywhere in between, Bookmaker Sportsbook has you covered with the best college football gambling action for Thursday, September 8th, and everyday throughout the 2011 season, including the rematch of last year’s Alamo Bowl as the Cowboys from Oklahoma State University plays host to the University of Arizona Wildcats. ESPN will carry the nationally televised broadcast starting at 8:00 ET from Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Oklahoma State (-14) currently sits as a two touchdown favorite with the college football gambling total resting at 65.

As expected, the Oklahoma State Cowboys rolled over visiting Louisiana-Lafayette in their opener last Saturday, but folks around Stillwater were not as pleased as they thought they’d be, mostly because of the numbers put up by the Ragin’ Cajuns. Despite Okie State winning by 27 points, Louisiana-Lafayette posted 34 points on the ‘Boys. However, as new offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, made his debut, the talk centered around State’s 61 points and 666 yards of total offense.

“There were a number of things that the players have confidence in,” Monken said. “We’re going to continue to do what we feel like gives us the best chance to move the ball. … There’s a number of things that they did in the past that I think, as I’ve said many times, we’d be silly to change.” One of those things is getting the ball to last year’s Biletnikoff Award winner, Justin Blackmon, who tallied a game high 144 receiving yards on eight catches though never reaching pay dirt. Quarterback Brandon Weeden made plenty of noise as well, throwing for 388 yards and three touchdowns, but the senior also tossed a trio of interceptions as well.

Though the Cowboys (1-0) put up big numbers last week, they did not cover the closing college football gambling spread (0-1); the ‘over’, however, did earn a clear victory (1-0).

If you thought Brandon Weeden posted numbers in week one, take a look at what Arizona’s Nick Foles did to the visiting Northern Arizona defense last Saturday night in Tucson. The senior play caller went nuts through the air, completing an astounding 34-of-42 passes for 412 yards and five touchdowns, three of which came in the third quarter alone; Foles connected with top target, WR Jaron Criner, six times in the contest as the senior finished with a game high 155 receiving yards.

Though the Cats raced out to a 14-0 first quarter lead, the Lumberjacks only trailed by four at halftime. Luckily Mike Stoops’ squad woke up and held the Jacks scoreless in the second half, outscoring them 30-0 for a 41-10 final at Arizona Stadium. Stoops was stern after the blowout win, however, and with good reason: the Cats only forced one turnover and finished with 10 penalties which totaled 74 yards. Arizona’s 2-of-7 finish on third downs also needs improvement if the Cats have any hope of erasing last season’s 36-10 Alamo Bowl loss to the Cowboys.

Arizona (1-0) had no trouble covering the lofty college football gambling spread (1-0) last week versus Northern Arizona while the ‘over’ (1-0) also proved successful for the Wildcats.
