NCAA Betting Online:
From LeBron’s Miami mansion to Monticello and everywhere in between, Bookmaker Sportsbook has you covered with the most NCAA football gambling options for Thursday, October 27th, and everyday throughout the 2011 season, including the ACC Coastal contest featuring the Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Cavaliers from Sun Life Stadium in South Beach. ESPN & ESPN3.com will handle the national television broadcast starting at 8:00 ET.
Miami enters the contest as a sizable hometown NCAA football gambling favorite, laying down 13.5-points to the Cavs.
It might be a short week schedule wise for the Miami Hurricanes, but that certainly doesn’t bother anyone in or around South Beach; at least, not with the way the Canes have been playing lately. All of a sudden, Miami has begun to look like the team many thought they would be at the beginning of the season. The Hurricanes’ defense has also turned heads lately, and for proof, just look at Miami’s 24-7 upset over No. 22 Georgia Tech last Saturday.
The race for the ACC Coastal crown became even tighter after Miami forced three Yellow Jackets turnovers at Sun Life Stadium, including a recovered fumbled-punt for a touchdown in the second quarter. “On that punt, my job is to get to the ball,” said safety JoJo Nicholas, who also caught an interception in the win. “It just so happened the ball came to me.” Miami held GT’s offense to more than 300 yards under their season average in the win.
Miami has a 4-3 record both in the standings and against the NCAA football gambling odds this season; the ‘over’ has coincidently played 4-3 as well in 2011. The Canes are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Thursday night games while the ‘under’ has gone 8-2-1 in Miami’s last 11 games as a favorite.
Just as Virginia has felt the highs this season, the Cavaliers have felt the lows. After the team beat Idaho in overtime and followed up the victory with an upset of then No. 12 Georgia Tech, the Cavs had their two game win streak come to a close last Saturday when they dropped a 28-14 decision to the North Carolina State Wolfpack. With three of the team’s final five games coming on the road, the Cavaliers’ chances of reaching a bowl game are suddenly in jeopardy.
Virginia held the ball for almost five minutes less than NC State in the contest while committing four turnovers as well. “Too many turnovers, for sure. Too many turnovers that led to points. You can’t do that against a very fast, good, athletic team,” second year UVA coach Mike London said afterwards. And going into Miami week, London is sure that his team cannot make the same mistakes twice. “We’ll see how resilient we can be, how we can turn around a short week and get prepared to go on the road and play a very, very good and athletic Miami team.”
‘Virginia holds a 4-3 SU record in the standings but just a 2-5 mark against the NCAA football gambling lines in 2011; the ‘under’ has cashed in six of their seven tussles to date. And though Virginia is just 1-4 ATS in its last five games against teams with a winning record and 1-5 its last six on the road, the underdog is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings between the Cavs and Canes.
