The end of the 2011 season unfortunately can’t come soon enough for the Jayhawks who won’t be going bowling for the third season in a row. Big things were expected from upstart Head Coach Turner Gill who turned Buffalo’s football program around before making the trek west to Lawrence last season, but it just hasn’t panned out that way. Since his arrival, Kansas stands just 5-17 SU & 10-12 ATS; included in that dismal record is an outright home defeat against FCS representative North Dakota State.

Kansas looked to be on the verge of snapping its seven-game losing streak last week at home against Baylor up 24-3 heading into the final quarter of play. But in the blink of an eye, Robert Griffin III and his band of Bears from Waco tallied 21 unanswered points in the final stanza to force the game into an extra session. After BU took a 31-24 lead after its first possession in overtime, Kansas answered with a 25-yard TD pass on its very first play from scrimmage. After calling a timeout, Kansas’ offense returned to the playing field to go for two. The pass play wasn’t converted and the Jayhawks were forced to stomach yet another disappointing defeat. They’ll hit the road for this one 0-4 SU & 1-3 versus the CFB betting lines losing by an average of nearly 33 PPG.

The Aggies began their 2011-12 campaign with extreme optimism with many forecasting them to rival the Oklahoma Sooners for top honors in the Big 12. After taking SMU and Idaho out behind the woodshed and serving up good ‘ol fashioned beatings, it was on to Oklahoma State for their first big time home clash of the season. Head Coach Mike Sherman’s kids dominated the first half and held a 20-3 lead at the break. It was all downhill from there however, as the Aggies went on to lose by a single point (30-29) and the beginning of A&M’s disappointing season had commenced.

They blew another solid lead against Arkansas the following week, and in each of the three games leading up to today’s game, the Aggies are 0-3 SU & ATS which includes a pair of outright CFB betting odds defeats in overtime as favorites against Missouri and Kansas State. QB Ryan Tannehill has thrown for just over 2900 yards and 23 TDs, but he’s gotten no help from his defense that’s given up an average of 420.4 YPG (#91) and 31 PPG (#89). The 12th Man has seen their team go 3-2 SU & 2-3 ATS as a host heading into this one.

CFB Betting Prediction – This was the game last year that turned Texas A&M’s season around. After blowing the Jayhawks out 45-10 in Lawrence, the Aggies went on to win each of their next five games before getting blown out by LSU in the Cotton Bowl. The road team has won each of these conference rivals L/3 gridiron battles, but if you got the coin to cover it, a moneyline play on A&M will certainly pay off in this spot. Kansas has been blown up in each of its three road games against teams that have appeared in the Top 25 (Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State and Texas) losing by an average of 42.3 PPG, and they have nothing to really look forward to except next week’s final “Border War” with Missouri. With bowl eligibility on the line and the favorite 4-1 ATS the L/5 in the recent series, lay the hefty home chalk with the Aggies!
