From the Sunshine State to the Empire State and everywhere in between, Bookmaker Sportsbook has you covered with the most NCAA football betting options for Friday, November 11th, and everyday throughout the remainder of the season, including the Big East contest featuring Syracuse (5-4, 3-6 ATS) and South Florida (4-4, 3-5 ATS) from the Carrier Dome. ESPN2 will be on hand for the national television broadcast starting at 8:00 ET.
Well, at least the Syracuse Orange and their fans can say they have a winning record – they just can’t say the same when asked how the team has fared in the Big East. After evening its conference mark with a triumphant upset win over then No. 15 West Virginia, the Orange have dropped back to back Big East contests at Louisville and Connecticut respectively. Syracuse will play in its second Friday night game of the season coming up, and it should be a happy homecoming considering the team has not played in the Carrier Dome since October 21st.
While nothing about Syracuse’s defense provides intimidation or the least bit of caution for opposing offenses, the team did force five turnovers in the first half last week at Connecticut. It was the most turnovers a Syracuse team has forced since a 2005 meeting with West Virginia. If that type of effort can carry over into the Carrier Dome, Syracuse may just be able to snap their two game losing streak against the Bulls.
Syracuse (5-4) may have a winning record in the standings, but the team is just 3-6 against the NCAA football betting lines this season; the ‘over’ is 6-3. The Orange is also 1-4 ATS in its last five Big East games and 1-5 ATS in its last six games in the month of November. The ‘under’ is 12-5 in Syracuse’s last 17 conference match ups.
If only the South Florida Bulls could return to the non-conference portion of their schedule. A stunning upset win over Notre Dame in South Bend to start the season led the way for the Bulls putting together a four game win streak that saw them enter the national polls. Since, however, the Bulls have only matched up against Big East opponents, falling to Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Cincinnati and Rutgers respectively; South Florida is the only team without a victory in Big East play this season.
It will be a short week for the Bulls as well after losing an overtime heartbreaker at home against the Scarlet Knights last Saturday. If South Florida has any hope of breaking into the conference win column on Friday night, the team, specifically place kicker Maikon Bonani, will have to erase the thought of missing a game-winning field goal in regulation. “I’m so proud of this team – the heart energy and the passion that they are playing the game with,” head coach Skip Holtz said. It may be tough right now for Holtz and the Bulls, but if his players have the same mindset as the man in charge, things will end up ok in Tampa. The question is whether things will be ok on Friday in Syracuse.
South Florida is an even 4-4 on the season while playing to a 3-5 tally against the closing NCAA football betting odds; the O/U is 4-4 as well in 2011. The Bulls are both 5-1 ATS in their last six Friday games as well as in their last six match-ups with Syracuse.
