From the Redwood Forest to the San Diego Zoo and everywhere throughout the Golden State, Bookmaker Sportsbook has you covered with the most college football betting options for Saturday, October 29th, and everyday throughout the 2011 season, including the PAC 12 monster match up featuring USC and undefeated Stanford from the Los Angeles Coliseum. ABC will televise the game nationally and kick off is slated for 8:00 ET.
Though Stanford’s making the trek south to LA, the Cardinal remains a 7-point college football betting favorite for the grudge match with the ‘total’ set at 60.
They’re fourth in the AP Poll and sixth in the BCS, but as long as the Stanford Cardinal can win out, there is no telling where they’ll end up. With highly touted quarterback Andrew Luck leading the way, Stanford has put up 48.6 points per game in its first seven wins; that number is good enough for second in the country. Its defense hasn’t been far behind, holding opponents to an average of just 12.6 points per game which checks in as the nation’s fourth best average. All in all, Stanford is clearly the favorite in the PAC 12, and with good reasoning behind it.
Luck, who threw four touchdown passes in a win over Washington State two weeks ago, was named the PAC 12 offensive player of the week the following Monday. What that led to was a lesser personal performance in the team’s 65-21 win over Washington, but a much more impressive team effort, especially on the ground. Stanford rushed for 446 yards in the win and totaled more than 600 yards of offense without a turnover. USC will certainly have its hands full.
Stanford is a perfect 7-0 in the standings and against the college football betting spread this season despite the ‘under’ playing to a 4-3 mark. The Cardinal is 9-1-1 ATS in its last 11 road games and 7-0-1 ATS in its last eight as a road favorite. Stanford is also 5-1 ATS in its last six games against USC in LA.
Maybe the Trojans were upset about being held out of the national polls once again. USC wasn’t included in the initial BCS top 25 and going to South Bend to play Notre Dame last week wasn’t going to help all that much considering the Irish were out of the polls as well. But that didn’t stop Lane Kiffin and company from storming into Northern Indiana and dealing Notre Dame a 31-17 loss on Saturday night.
“I would say it’s our team’s biggest win since we’ve been here because of all the stuff around it,” Kiffin said about his team’s win in Notre Dame’s first night game in 21 years. Quarterback Matt Barkley threw three touchdowns, the Trojans nearly doubled the offensive output of the Irish in total yards and the USC defense forced three turnovers as well. USC never trailed in the contest and has now won three straight games leading up to its toughest test of the season on Saturday.
Though USC is 6-1 SU the Trojans are just 4-3 against the college football betting lines in 2011; the ‘under’ sits 4-3 as well. The Trojans are 4-1 ATS against teams with a winning record and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0 points.
