NFL Betting Online:
Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, HI will be the site of Sunday, January 29th’s NFL betting showdown between the AFC Pro Bowlers and the NFC Pro Bowlers. You’ll be able to catch all of the action for this one live on NBC starting at 7:00 ET.
NFL Betting Lines
AFC Pro Bowlers (+4) -110
Pro Bowl(-4) -110
Over/Under 72.5
Normally speaking, when you look at the Pro Bowl, the first item of business when analyzing the NFL betting odds is the play of the quarterbacks. In this case, there is a clear advantage that goes to the NFC over the AFC.
The AFC loses Tom Brady to the Super Bowl, and replacing him is rookie Andy Dalton. Dalton and Philip Rivers will come off of the bench to spell the starter, Ben Roethlisberger. None of these three quarterbacks were truly playing at an elite level this year, and the receivers that they have to work with in AJ Green, Mike Wallace, Brandon Marshall, and Vincent Jackson have really been hit or miss.
If the AFC is winning this game, it is going to have to do so on the ground. Maurice Jones-Drew, Arian Foster, Ryan Mathews, and Willis McGahee make up quite the formidable backfield, and all four have the ability to double as receivers as well.
The Pro Bowl’s NFL betting lines are clearly in favor of the NFC because of their quarterbacks. Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers both had seasons for the ages, and though Eli Manning won’t play because of the Super Bowl, Cam Newton makes for a fantastic replacement and a truly mobile quarterback that will be tough to stop.
It’s a shame that Calvin Johnson is sitting this one out, but Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, Greg Jennings, and Roddy White are all stars, and Jimmy Graham is clearly going to be the best tight end available in the game.
What we are noticing about this game this year is that the ‘total’ is seemingly far too high. Sure, defense is generally optional in games like this, but that doesn’t mean that the guys that are out there aren’t going to want to be at their best. More offensive players are lost to the Super Bowl than defensive players, and that 72.5 ‘total’ is alarmingly high.
NFL Betting Prediction: Over the course of the last seven Pro Bowls, the results against the NFL betting ‘total’ have all trended towards the ‘under’. Only one game has featured more than 72 points in that stretch, and the average final score has only featured 65.4 points per game. The ‘under’ should be the safe play to make.
Beating the NFL betting lines can be a snap, but only if you’ve got the right sportsbook at your fingertips. Ready to back the AFC or go with the NFC? Bookmaker Sportsbook has you covered, and we have the best prices you’ll find on the ‘net. Don’t miss the action and join right now!
