On Thursday, December 29th, 2011 at 5:30 ET, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-4, 5-7 ATS) and Florida State Seminoles (8-4, 6-6 ATS) will get it on at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL for the Champs Sports Bowl. Here at Bookmaker Sportsbook, we’ve got our college football picks for this game, which will be shown nationally on ESPN and ESPN3.com.

College Football Betting Lines
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+3) -110
Florida State Seminoles (-3) -110
Over/Under 47

Both Florida State and Notre Dame probably felt as though they could have been BCS teams this year. Had the Irish started off the season with Tommy Rees instead of Dayne Crist at quarterback, they probably would have beaten the South Florida Bulls and at least kept their name in the hat as a potential Top 16 team. Had EJ Manuel not gotten hurt, FSU probably would have beaten the Clemson Tigers and probably played for the ACC Championship as a result.

That being said, both teams are right here in Orlando, a place where they have been challenged to make for great college football betting picks before. In fact, it was a game against the Irish in 1993 that nearly cost the Seminoles the National Championship. Notre Dame went on the very next week to lose to the Boston College Eagles, which opened the door back up for FSU to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a game that ultimately won the garnet and gold their first National Championship.

This also isn’t the first time that these two have met in a bowl game. In the 1996 Orange Bowl, Florida State picked up the win over the Irish, but it was the bettors on Notre Dame that got the last laugh and made for great college football wagering picks.

Since that point, these two teams have met twice. The Golden Domers went into Tallahassee and beat a disappointing Florida State team back in 2002, but the very next year in South Bend, the Noles pitched a rare shutout in a 37-0 romp.

College Football Betting Pick – The Seminoles have historically looked tremendous in bowl games, winning three straight and covering all three, including a win over the Wisconsin Badgers here at the Champs Sports Bowl. Notre Dame is only 2-6 ATS in its last eight bowl games, and it has had a very bad history of late. Though this isn’t the game that FSU truly wanted to play in, the team came to play last year against the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, and we see a similar type of outcome with a great finish to the year against the Irish.

College Football Online – Disappointed Mountaineers and Wolfpack Meet in Champs Sports Bowl

Written by North Shore Sports, Inc.

The bowl season continues for college football online betting fans heading into this week! Are you ready to bet on the clash between the West Virginia Mountaineers and North Carolina State Wolfpack? Don’t miss a moment of the action, at Bookmaker Sportsbook, as we are the outlet for you!

NCAAF Betting Online: Enjoy mobile betting with college football online for this great encounter on Tuesday, December 28th at 6:30 ET from the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL between the West Virginia Mountaineers and the North Carolina State Wolfpack. The Champs Sports Bowl can be seen nationally on ESPN and ESPN3.com.

The Wolfpack have to feel like they were slighted just a bit this year due to the fact that they couldn’t hold on to their comfortable lead in the ACC Atlantic Division, and now, the punishment that they and their college football online betting fans have to endure is a less desirable bowl game.

Still, just getting to a bowl this year is going to be a highlight in a season full of great games for the Wolfpack. They came down here to the Sunshine State and beat the C-USA champs, the UCF Knights, and they were good enough to knock off the Florida State Seminoles and North Carolina Tar Heels in national broadcasts as well.

Head Coach Tom O’Brien has plenty to be proud of, especially from his quarterback, Russell Wilson who shocked the college football online betting world in 2010 by throwing for 3,288 yards and 26 TDs; he was arguably the best quarterback in the ACC this year.

However, West Virginia lost out on the Big East title as well this year, and for a team that is used to going to the BCS, this is also not exactly the bowl game that it had in mind. This is the second straight year of coming down to the Sunshine State for a bowl game, as the Mountaineers were beaten in college football online betting action last year by the Florida State Seminoles in the final game of the coaching career of Bobby Bowden.

The ‘Neers did a lot of work this year offensively, and it was a major disappointment that Noel Devine just never became the Heisman Trophy candidate that most expected. Instead, Geno Smith had to throw for 2,567 yards and 23 scores against six INTs just to keep this offense moving.

The defense never had any problems though, as this unit allowed an average of just 248.8 yards and 12.8 points per game on the campaign.

The Champs Sports Bowl college football online betting odds feature the Mountaineers getting the nod by three points; the ‘total’ has been set at 48.5. The WVU defense is good enough to take care of Wilson and the gang. After years of frustrations in bowl games against solid ACC teams, this is finally the year that Bill Stewart gets the job done and takes care of the Wolfpack.
