NCAAF Betting Online:

In what might be the quickest bowl game of the year with very little passing, look for Nebraska (9-3, 4-7-1 ATS) to rush its way past South Carolina (10-2, 6-6 ATS) in CFB betting in the Capital One Bowl from the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL on Monday, January 2nd at 1:00 ET in a game televised on ESPN, ESPN 3D, and ESPN3.com.

South Carolina would break a school record for football wins in a season if it can notch its 11th win here on the CFB betting lines, but this is a team that has lost three straight bowl games and none of those teams it lost to (Iowa in 2008, Connecticut in 2009 and Florida State last year) were probably as good as this Nebraska opponent this season.

Nebraska is looking to erase the memory of losing to Washington 19-7 as a 13½-point favorite in the Holiday Bowl last season, but that was a mostly disinterested team that had just lost a thriller to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game, while this is a chance to make a mark in the Cornhuskers’ first year in the Big Ten in a much better bowl game vs. an SEC opponent.

Current Line at Bookmaker: South Carolina (-2½), Total 46

This may sound rather simplistic, but this game will come down to a battle of the running games and we simply think that Nebraska will run the ball better and thus emerge with the victory on the CFB betting odds. The Cornhuskers averaged a whopping 223.4 rushing yards per game this season on 4.8 yards per carry, and it helps having an extra runner in the backfield in quarterback Taylor Martinez.

Now we get that South Carolina has a great defense, allowing only 18.8 points and 268.9 total yards per game to rank fourth in the country in total defense. However, the Gamecocks were phenomenal in passing defense, ranking second in the land behind only Alabama, but thy were a much more ordinary 45th against the run while allowing 135.9 rushing yards per game on 3.7 yards per carry.

Being great against the pass will not help South Carolina vs. Nebraska, and the Gamecocks did not face any running quarterbacks like Martinez in SEC play either, so we look for Nebraska to win the battle at the line of scrimmage on offense.

Now, South Carolina is averaging 30.1 points per game in CFB betting, as well as 198.0 rushing yards on 4.6 yards per carry. Keep in mind that this team scored 41 points vs. outclassed Citadel and 54 points vs. defenseless Kentucky, so that point total is somewhat skewed, and the Cocks obviously lost one of the best running backs in the country when Marcus Lattimore was lost for the year.

We do not trust young quarterback Connor Shaw in his first bowl game either after Stephen Garcia was kicked off the team in mid-season, so look for the Huskers to prevail.

CFB Betting Pick: Take the Nebraska Cornhuskers (+2½)

Do you think that Nebraska will be able to win this game just with its running game alone, or do you think South Carolina will complete enough passes to emerge triumphant? 2011 Capital One Bowl Alabama Vs Michigan St Odds and Predictions

Alabama Crimson Tide NCAAF Betting Lines VS. NCAA Football Michigan State Spartans Picks

College Football Vegas Odds – Defending Champs Take on Upstart MSU in Capital One Bowl

Written by North Shore Sports, Inc.

Betting on the go for the college football Vegas odds couldn’t be any easier than it is this bowl season at Bookmaker Sportsbook! The duel we are keying in on today is the Capital One Bowl between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Michigan State Spartans.

NCAAF Betting Online: The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Michigan State Spartans are ready to have at it in the Capital One Bowl on Saturday, January 1st at 1:00 ET. This game from the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL can be seen nationally on ESPN and ESPN3.com, and is certainly a bowl battle that you won’t want to miss our analysis of the college football Vegas odds here at Bookmaker Sportsbook.

The Spartans were one of the biggest surprises this year, and if not for a loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes, they would have beaten the college football Vegas odds and be participating in a BCS bowl. Still, this is a great consolation prize in one of the biggest bowl games of New Year’s Day.

None of the numbers will really overwhelm you for this team, but Head Coach Mark D’Antonio really did everything he could either up in the booth or on the sidelines to make sure the men in green just kept winning games. Averaging 408.5 yards per game was one of the best marks in the Big Ten. That’s almost 80 yards per game more than what the opponents are averaging against Michigan State. The Spartans also outscored their foes by over 11 points per game.

This wasn’t the year that the Crimson Tide envisioned on really any front. The college football Vegas odds were on the side of the Tide all year long, but they really stumbled down the stretch and dropped two of their final four games of the season, accounting for the same number of losses the team had over the last three years.

Mark Ingram, last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, wasn’t even considered as a finalist this year. He only rushed for 816 yards, less than half of what he accounted for a year ago, and he found the end zone 12 times.

Defensively, things were iffy for Alabama in relation to last year when it had one of the best units in the history of college football. Still, there’s no shame for those analyzing the college football Vegas odds to see a team allowing just 289.9 yards and 14.1 points per game.

The college football Vegas odds in the Capital One Bowl features the Crimson Tide favored by 10 points, while the ‘total’ has been set at 52. This has been a year in which the Spartans have been told what they can’t do. This is another situation where no one is expecting to see the third team from the Big Ten do any damage. Don’t be shocked though, if Michigan State gets some revenge against the man that left its program just a few years ago, as Sparty pulls off the biggest upset of the bowl campaign.

If you’re looking for the best previews of the college football Vegas odds on the internet, we’re the one stop shop for you. Bookmaker Sportsbook has the best NCAA football lines on the net and the best analysis to boot.
