Houston U Cougars vs Air Force Falcons
12:00 PM ET, December 31, 2008
Amon Carter Stadium , Fort Worth , TX
ESPN, ESPN 360
Spread: Houston -2.5
Total: 64
My Pick: This will be a rematch between the 2 teams as Air Force took the first game this year edging out the Cougars by a field goal. The Falcons are a run first team as they don’t have much of a QB in Tim Jefferson, so you will see alot of RB’s Todd Newell and Asher Clark, a QB who was converted into a tailback. You couldn’t tell from the stats, but the Falcons are ranked 5th in rushing yards and they will most likely stick with the same game plan they used to defeat Houston in the beginning of the season. Houston may be one of the most underrated teams in the nation ranking 1st in the nation for total yards a game with 590. Much of this can be attributed to QB Case Keenum whose 4700 yards and 43 TD’s this season has the Cougars in the hunt for its first bowl win in more than 2 decades. Keenum will share the spotlight with RB Bryce Beall whose 6.3 ypc average should be cause for concern for the Falcon D. At less than a field goal and just a short drive to Fort Worth from Houston I think the Cougars avenge their loss and pull off win. Give the points.
