Bowling Green Falcons finished 3rd on the MAC East with an overall record of 7-5 but a great conference record of 6-2, that is a very decent performance on a semi-tough conference with teams like Central Michigan and Ohio. If given enough time, QB Tyler Sheehan can pick a defense apart and now he’ll face an Idaho pass defense that has struggled to get to the quarterback. The front four are taking too long to get off blocks and the coverage hasn’t held up long enough for the pressure to get to the quarterback when they’ve blitzed. In addition, 5-foot-7, 175-pound RB Willie Geter’s lack of ideal bulk makes it difficult for him to hold his own in pass protection, but he can provide Sheehan with an effective safety valve when the Vandals blitz. Geter is quick enough to separate from man coverage. By what I have seen this season it seems like offense is all Bowling Green has on their minds and that’s how you win football games, or at least the more entertaining way to do so. The Falcons can go either by grown or by pass and that could be altogether manageable if Idaho would have been a better defensive team which they are not so it is pretty much set. Other players involved in this game offensively will be RB Chris Bullock, WR Freddie Barnes and WR Adrian Hodges. Let’s remember that Bowling Green scored in average 27.3 points and received 26.2 so this game could be the perfect opportunity to get out of those stats.

Idaho Vandals have a perfect chance to run their powerful mixed attack on the Falcons all game long. QB Nathan Enderle with his high-powered attack is rated seventh in the Football Bowl Subdivision with a 122.75 quarterback rating and has thrown 18 touchdowns. Enderle missed two games with a shoulder injury before returning and throwing for three scores Nov. 28 in a 52-49 season-ending loss to Utah State. He had 35 interceptions over the previous two seasons before cutting down on his mistakes with nine in 2009. The quarterback will hand the ball off to RB DeMaundray Woolridge, who had a strong year with Idaho after not playing since he flunked out at Washington State after the 2006 season. Akey, a Cougars assistant during Woolridge’s time there, brought him to Idaho. Woolridge averages 5.7 yards per carry and rushed for a team-high 853 yards, splitting time with RB Princeton McCarty (605 yards) and RB Deonte Jackson (381) in a three-back attack. The Vandals are looking anxiously to make up for their poor finish at the regular season so the bowl gives them the perfect scenario to do so. Other players involved in the offense will be WR Max Komar and WR Daniel Hardy. The numbers show that Idaho averaged 31.8m points per game but they allowed 35.5 and that is simply terrible.
