ESPN and NFL Monday Night Football bring the Philadelphia Eagles with a record of 3-2 against the Washington Redskins with a record of 2-4. The Eagles are second place of the NFC East right behind the Giants and the Redskins last place of the same division. This divisional and Conference challenge could be what the Eagles need to get back to the way they have been all season.

Philadelphia Eagles biggest news today will be the acquisition of LB Will Witherspoon from St.Louis Rams today for rookie WR Brandon Gibson and a fifth-round pick in 2010. Witherspoon has recorded more than 100 tackles three times in his career and has missed only two games to injury and Gibson, a sixth-round pick, was inactive for all six games with Philadelphia so I guess Eagles are getting the best results from this trade, at least on the short term scenario. A good question has been why the coach have not used QB Michael Vick? Vick has been in the middle of all this crisis Philadelphia is facing and he still can’t play for them, the key for the Eagles is to use him and to blitz against the new QB Washington is bringing, may be with that and some luck the Eagles can get out of this week untouched. QB Donovan McNaab had a terrible game on sunday against the Raiders and he got sacked 6 times, didn’t score a single td and it is weird that he looked so bad this sunday when last sunday he looked great … I want to see QB Michael Vick take the starting job, this might be the missing piece in the puzzle, let’s hope the coach can analize the situation and read it in Vick’s favor. Helping this next monday the Eagles will have RB Brian Westbrook, RB LeSean McCoy, TE Brent Celek and WR DeSean Jackson, all ready to do their best.

Washington Redskins Head Coach Jim Zorn has said that QB Jason Campbell will start next monday night against Philadelphia. The Redskins also made several roster moves, signing Tackle Levi Jones, RB Quinton Ganther and DE Renaldo Wynn. They released PK Glenn Pakulak, and RB Anthony Alridge and RB Marcus Mason. This team is looking like they are rebuilding, they need to make Campbell their leader, Zorn was hired to take him to the next level so he will give the starting job to him no questions asked. The biggest concern for the Redskins will be the lack of experience their QB has under pressure, if the Eagles decide to blitz the whole game it will be along night for Campbell. Helping him Washington has RB Clinton Portis, WR Santana Moss and TE Chris Cooley, they will depend on Portis to make it happen, good luck to them.

GAME ODDS

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES -7
WASHINGTON REDSKINS 37½

THIS GAME COULD EASILY TURN INTO A NIGHTMARE FOR THE EAGLES IF THEY ARE NOT CAREFUL ENOUGH, YOUNG CAMPBELL WANTS TO STAY AS THE STARTING QB FOR THE REDSKINS AND HE WILL DO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO BEAT PHILLY. MY PICK WILL BE WASHINGTON REDSKINS +7 SINCE THE EAGLES HAVE ALL THAT DRAMA TO DEAL WITH, THEY COULD WIN BUT THEY WON’T COVER THE SPREAD.
