NBC and the NCAA brings yet another classic football game between No.6 USC Trojans and a historical school like No.25 Notre Dame Fighting Irish with all their football tradition, let’s hope the great years will be back at least for this game, make the Fighting Irish great one more time, it will be a hard task but both teams are ready for it …

No.6 USC Trojans with a great record of 4-1 and marching 3rd on the heavy PAC-10 Conference with 2-1 conference challenges travels to South Bend, Indiana to play the Fighting Irish. USC has a record on the road of 2-1, this is a record they have accomplished against nationally ranked teams so they are more than ready and they have enough quality to win on the road. USC coach Pete Carroll has raved about QB Matt Barkley since training camp, but at least one Trojan thinks the freshman’s ability to run the offense smoothly is noticeably better the past two games. “There’s more of a comfort level now because we’re used to him,” C Kris O’Dowd said. “If you were to compare the Ohio State game to the Cal game, it’s a big difference. Now this is USC biggest weakness, a freshman QB that hasn’t been able to throw that many times and he hasn’t been able to acomplish great things for the offense yet. He needs to relax and trust his offensive line. to help him on this task he has RB Joe McKnight, RB Allen Bradford, WR Damian Williams and WR Stanley Havili, all with great numbers and they will all help to put some points on the board. Adding to this great offense the defense will be in great shape, in their 5 games they have hold the other teams to 8.6 points average, that is simply unbelievable, they need to apply pressure on ND and they will fall no doubt.

No.25 Notre Dame Fighting Irish with their incredible numbers have been fighting to stay in the top 25. On Total yards they rank 10th in the country, on Passing Yards 8th, on Rushing yards 60th which is the weak point of the team and Points scored 29th. These stats are valuable although it doesn’t mean anything if the team doesn’t commit to give their very best playing at home in front of their people, they need to stay on top pf their game and make it happen at least by air. QB Jimmy Clausen who was injured on his foot has been playing extraordinary with 12 tds and only 2 interceptions promises a game to remember. He needs to keep doing what he has been doing so far, he has been able to control the game and his team has been able to score 30+ points in every game they have played this season which is remarkable. Helping the QB they have RB Armando Allen Jr., RB Robert Hughes, WR Golden Tate and TE Kyle Rudolph which has been the perfect replacement of Michael Floyd (out for th season). Their defense has been another weak point, they will need to shape the defense up if they want to win the game, it will be hard work but it can be done.

NOTRE DAME HAS BEEN HISTORICALLY ONE OF THE BEST TEAMS IN THE COUNTRY. THIS SEASON THEY ARE NOT DOING THAT GOOD AND THEY WILL NEED NOW MORE THAN ANYTHING A SOLID DEFENSE THAT STOPS USC IF SUCH A THING IS POSSIBLE. MY PICK FOR THIS GAME WILL BE USC TROJANS -11 ON THE ROAD, THEY ARE THE BETTER TEAM.
