No.20 Oklahoma Sooners, usually ranking higher than this travels to Dallas to face a long time rival the No.3 Texas Longhorns. Oklahoma Sooners are not having the season they planned, already 3-2 looking at the third place of the Big 12 South division, in which Texas is holding the first place and this game could mean the last chance for the Sooners that are way too far from what we have seen from them in the past years.

No.20 Oklahoma Sooners as we said before haven’t had the season we expected when the 2009 NCAA season started. Since their first game and defeat against BYU they have been up and down, losing also against Miami Hurricanes so everything points to the fact that the Sooners have problems with nationally ranked teams and that could be a huge problem facing Texas. QB Landry Jones replacing the injured QB Sam Bradford could be a great weapon against the Longhorns, he has thrown ok this season but he could be the missing piece in this puzzle for the Sooners. The fact that a rookie QB has thrown 10 tds this season it’s impressive but he needs a lot of work and time to adjust to the offensive line. Let’s also recall that both games Oklahoma have lost have been for 1 point only, that is not hte QB’s fault. Helping the QBs since Sam Bradford is back on offense the Sooners will have RB DeMarco Murray and RB Chris Brown by ground, and WR Brandon Caleb by air, who was No.1 target by QB Sam Bradford on his return this past saturday. The greatest loss for the Sooners is WR Ryan Broyles who will miss 2-4 weeks with a broken left shoulder blade, he will be greatly missed.
No.3 Texas Longhorns with a record of 5-0 with 2 conference wins face the Sooners with their starting QB back to the roster. The biggest issue Texas has for this game will be the lack of running game, their two starting running backs are injured and they could not be helping the Longhorns next saturday. RB Vondrell McGee left the Colorado game this last saturday with an injured left shoulder and RB Tre’ Newton left the same game with a mild concussion and both will be greatly missed by the offense since they both average about 5 yards per carry. Now here is the scenario, if Texas had problems without these two guys against a team like Colorado we can expect hell to pay when they face Oklahoma, they will make them pay every chance they get. Texas will have to look at QB Colt McCoy, WR Jordan Shipley and WR Dan Buckner for answers on the field, the good part about all this is the fact that all these players can deliver, may be a little pressure is what Texas need to be back in the No.2 ranking of the Nation. The key of this particular game will be the defense Texas has, they can really help and in this one they will be needed.
GAME ODDS
OKLAHOMA SOONERS
TEXAS LONGHORNS -3
THIS IS BY FAR THE TOUGHEST GAME I HAVE EVER PREDICTED, BOTH TEAMS HAVE GREAT HISTORY BEHIND THEM, AS WELL AS GREAT COACHING STAFF SO IT WILL BE ON THE FIELD BY THE PLAYERS THAT THE GAME WILL BE DECIDED. MY PICK WILL BE OKLAHOMA SOONERS +3 MAKING TEXAS PAY FOR THE LACK OF GROUND GAME AND THE FACT THAT THE SOONERS HAVE THEIR STARTING QB BACK.
