USC is 1-1 on conference challenges and California 0-1 on the same thing so both teams have already tasted the bitterness of defeat, they might want to win this game in a bad way to make it to the top of the conference and catch Stanford and Arizona.

No.7 USC Trojans are 1-1 on road games with the important victory against Ohio State. Now they face California and USC is looking great for this game. Freshman QB Matt Barkley had an ok game against Wash State and led his team to victory one more time. Everytime he steps up is another chance he has prove why he was chosen to be the No.1 QB option for this legendary team. The running game will be a key ingredient for USC, RB Joe McKnight and RB Stafon Johnson are the chewing clock machine, they will control the ball at all times and combined have a success rate that is impressive for college football. The air game is very important, WR Damian Williams and FB Stanley Havili will need to score at least once each to make their appearance worthy. Now USC’s offense remains the main concern, “With such a young quarterback and a young collegiate offensive coordinator, sometimes the offense will be slow,” said LB Chris Galippo and that is a major concern for them. The defense also takes a hit from that and they get tired if they spend a lot of time in the field so the key as we mentioned before will the the young QB to do better than ever.

No.24 California Golden Bears were undefeated until this past saturday, they were out of luck and they ended up falling on the road against Oregon Ducks in a real ass wipping fiesta 41-3. QB Kevin Riley had a terrible game, with a 38.7% completion ratio and no tds or interceptions. This one sided beatdown was just a wake up call for California’s offense, their running game also suffered and they couldn’t score either, RB Jahvid Best and RB Shane Vereen were held up behind the red zone too many times, California wasn’t able to fix the problem and they paid dearly. WR Verran Tucker has to improve for this game if they want to make a difference. The yardage they need will be on these people’s feet and hands, they need to control the ball and blitz on the young QB from USC to beat them, easy enough for them, ain’t it???
