Clemson Tigers defeated last week Middle Tennessee State a semi-weak college. Clemson was able to score 37 points, the passing yards were 159, the running game 75 yards and the receiving yards at 70, that is not huge but sounds decent at least, Middle Tennessee didn’t have much to offer but they scored 14 points and could have been worst for the Tigers. Clemson is unranked and this will be a game against No.15 Georgia Tech that is by far stronger than Middle Tennessee State so this could turn easily into a nightmare. The secret here will be to stop coach Paul Johnson’s (Georgia Tech) triple-option spread offense, or at least give them a hard time. Clemson also has one of the best offensive players: C.J. Spiller. He can become the first player in school history with at least 2,000 rushing yards, 1,000 receiving yards, and 1,000 kickoff return yards. Sounds like the most versatile, accomplished player so far. A good newcomer will be quarterback Kyle Parker. He’s never played in a college football game before, but was the named the starter Monday for his consistency and rocket arm. The redshirt freshman is already a standout baseball player.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are hoping quarterback Josh Nesbitt and tailback Jonathan Dwyer are even better in their second seasons in the system. They are pretty much set with their famous Triple-option spread offense that has been the headache of each one of the ACC teams. In the first game they were also able to win on the season opener and they scored 37 points as well but they faced a mediocre opponent like Jacksonville State, that doesn’t mean the team played bad, they just could have scored a lot more points with a better effort. Georgia Tech’s defensive line is the biggest question facing this fall, as they have to replace three of their four starters up front who combined for 87 career starts. Those within the program seem confident the previous backup experience of the new starters will help make for a smooth transition. With a league-high 19 starters returning, it’s the only unknown for these Coastal Division contenders. One of the new faces could be Demaryius Thomas, he is a great player and a newbie that could give a breather to this team as a top receiver.

GAME ODDS

CLEMSON
GEORGIA TECH -5

WELL THIS WILL BE AN EASY PICK, ON PAPER GEORGIA TECH YELLOW JACKETS ARE THE RANKED TEAM BUT THERE ARE STILL A FEW MINOR DETAILS THAT MAKE THEM KINDA IRREGULAR ON THE OFFENSE. MY PICK WILL BE CLEMSON TIGERS +5 BECAUSE THE FRESHMAN QB CAN GET THE JOB DONE.
