One of the most talented teams in the NFL travels to Oakland to face the Raiders on the second part of a double header monday night football special. The Chargers are hungry, they have been around the big one but they have never had the chance, may be this will be the year for them, Will it be???

San Diego Chargers are one of the most talented teams in the NFL and they also have been the greatest dissapointment at least for the last 2 season, which they have won only 19 out of the 32 scheduled games for the regular seasons. This is simply embarrasing, they need a change of heart, some BALLS and may be a new tactic for this upcoming season since they are by far the strongest team at AFC West and they have the most dominating running back in history LaDainian Tomlinson. Also with Shawne Merriman pumping electricity back into the defense, the prospects are looking better for the Chargers. Merriman averaged 15 sacks and 21 tackles for loss over his previous two seasons. His replacement, Jyles Tucker, had 5 1/2 sacks and 15 tackles for loss last year, and he wasn’t the fire-and-brimstone tone-setter that Merriman had been during his first three seasons. On the spotlight will be WR Vincent Jackson, everybody is expecting great things from him as well.

Oakland Raiders are not a powerful team, they have not been for a very long time, the share the AFC West with San Diego and I can’t see how they can win any games this season. Oakland has ranked 22nd or worse against the run every year since 2002 and was 31st each of the past two seasons, allowing an average of 145.9 yards in ‘07 and 159.7 in ‘08. In ‘08 the Raiders surrendered 65 runs of 10 or more yards, including a league-high 11 for touchdowns. They also allowed six backs to gain 100 or more yards. Perhaps not coincidentally they were 1-5 in those games and 4-6 in all others. Marshall, with Cable’s backing, is preaching selflessness and accountability. When players are asked to specify how the defense will look different, they stammer and speak in vague terms. But there is no uncertainty when it comes to discussing the difference in preparation. But no matter what this team do they will still fall against better organized teams, with deeper rosters and better man power, they are just not ready this year, may be the next, or may be never???
