It has been a great year for the Star Tiger Woods, last week he won the St. Jude’s Classic making a powerful statement to all challengers to the US Open title, I AM READY AND HEALTHY to repeat the title; now the big question is CAN HE?
Tiger Woods won the tournament last year with an impressive performance while he was injured, his knee appears to be ok and he is ready to take another title, one he has won in the past but he doesn’t mind repeating. His game at the Classic last week was dead on, he hit incredible shots to beat Jim Furyk and take the tournament on Sunday and he didn’t look either tired or in pain which is as relief to all his fans across the World. Last time Tiger played at Bethpage Black Course in New York he won the tournament so he knows the conditions and the course I assume he has a little advantage.
Phil Mickelson might remember that day since he was fighting toe to toe with Woods for the title in 2002, he obviously lost and since then he has been really close but he has never been able to close the deal and win the tournament, although he will be one of the players to watch since in my opinion is the only one that can defeat Woods.
Some other players like Retief Goosen, Jim Furyk, Geoff Ogilvy and some other lucky ones have won this tournament already so they will be bringing a lot of heat to Woods but I don’t think it will be enough.
My prediction will be TIGER WOODS repeats the title and he confirms he is the greatest golf player at this moment but he will have to face Mickelson in what appears to be a blood bath between great champions.
