Fresh off his dramatic win over Sean O’Hair last week, Tiger Woods has started his 2009 season much like the end of his 2008 season both with spectacular wins in dramatic fashion. His leg seems to be fine and his ability to turn up the heat on Sunday was never more evident as he came back from a 5 stroke deficit to birdie hole 18 for the win. It was classic Tiger for sure and you can beleive the odds makers took notice as this year at Augusta he is the outright favorite at +180. Trailing in a distant second is Phillis Mickelson at +550 and in an even farther back 3rd is Paddy Harrington at +1300. Below you will find betting odds and links to the entire betting menu for the 2009 Masters tournament.
It is really no surprise that Tiger is favored, actually I think he is favored every year… This week at the Houston Shell Open, Phil Mickelson +580 is the favorite and will be looking to tune up his play in preparation for next weeks Masters tourney and fending off El Tigre’. Also there is another little twist of drama between Phil and Tiger as Phil is just decimal points away from unsurping Tiger’s #1 in the world ranking, with a win this week in Houston Phil can secure the #1 ranking for the first time ever and then defend it in the Masters. So you see there is alot of bragging rights and betting odds at stake here. Here are a few of the Odds to Win this years Masters along with links to all the props and options available.
Odds to Win the 2009 Masters:
Tiger Woods +180 (risk $100 to win $180)
These are just a few of the odds available. Gamblers Palace will also be offering player matchups for every round of the tournament as well as updated odds to win. Don’t forget about tournament props such as; Will/Won’t make the Cut, player total strokes for the tourney, hole in one yes/no, player makes an eagle yes/no as well as many others to come. ***UPDATED FRIDAY APRIL 10th
Tiger looked about average on Thursday while Chad Campbell nearly ran away with the lead before going bogey in the last 2 holes. As a whole, Augusta is getting whipped like a red headed step child with the field cutting the average score down 2 strokes from 74.2 to 72.1 compared to one year ago. Today’s featured 2nd round matchup:
Tiger Woods -240
Paddy Harrington +180
Pick: The value is on Paddy at almost 2 to 1, but then again every time Tiger has shot a 70 in the first round he has gone on to win the tourney. If you are going to bet it then you should throw some fun bucks on Paddy, there is no value in paying -240…
