2010mbbfinal4 large NCAA Hoops Road to the 2010 Final Four

Here is a quick look of who is hot and who is not in the NCAA Tourney about to start. The road leads to Indianapolis and so far the four regions are complete and eager to get started and show why they qualified to be in the tournament in the first place. Let’s have a look at the regions and the best seeded teams to make it to the Final Four

Let’s begin with the division of the bracket, the regions in the first and second round will be as follows:

Midwest and West will be played in Oklahoma City, Spokane, Providence, Buffalo, San Jose and Milwaukee.

The East and South will be played at New Orleans, Jacksonville, San Jose, Buffalo, Spokane and Providence.

Let’s take a look at the regions and the best teams seeded:

MIDWEST

Teams included in the Midwest region are: Kansas, Lehigh, UNLV, Northern Iowa, Michigan State, New Mexico State, Maryland, Houston, Tennessee, San Diego State, Georgetown, Ohio, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Ohio State and UC Santa Barbara. The Top 4 seeded are No.1 Kansas that in my opinion won’t have any problems to go to the second round, No.2 Ohio State also without any problems to get to the second round and No.3 Georgetown in my opinion most likely to hit the Elite Eight. Kansas Jayhawks finished with a record of 32-2 as top seeded and the way they have been playing it will sure for them to hit the Elite Eight as well. A team that has brought lots of excitment to the tournament like No.4 Maryland is worth mentioning the fact that they will hit the road but it will be tough for them to beat this year powerhouse Kansas.

My pick in this region will be Kansas Jayhawks to the Final Four.

WEST

Teams included in this region are: Syracuse, Vermont, Gonzaga, Florida State, Butler, UTEP, Vanderbilt, Murray State, Xavier, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Oakland, BYU, Florida, Kansas State and North Texas. The top 4 seeded are No.1 Syracuse who finished strong this regular season with a record of 28-4, No.2 Kansas State following very close with a record of 26-7, No.3 Pittsburgh playing the best ball of this region in my opinion with a record of 24-8 and No.4 Vanderbilt in my opinion overrated with a record of 24-8. Syracuse will easy move to the elite eight facing no real threats along the way but right then they will face a team like Pittsburgh and that’s where Syracuse true colors must shine.

My prediction for the West region will be Syracuse Orange to make it to the final four.

EAST

The east looks a little easier than the rest of the regions and here is the reason why, the teams involved are: Kentucky, Eastern Tennessee, Texas, Wake Forest, Temple, Cornell, Wisconsin, Wofford, Marquette, Washington, New Mexico, Montana, Clemson, Missouri, West Virginia and Morgan State. The top 4 seeded are No.1 Kentucky who finished with an impressive record of 32-2 and looks like nothing will stop them, No.2 West Virginia who layed great but is not a powerhouse and in my opinion doesn’t have what it takes to beat Kentucky, No.3 New Mexico that in my opinion doesn’t deserve to be named since they could fall early in the tournament and as No.4 Wisconsin that by far looks like the team Kentucky will face at the Sweet 16 but still not mgood enough to beat great Kentucky.

My pick in this region will be Kentucky Wildcats to make it to the Final Four.

SOUTH

The South has been a region dominated by big powerhouses in the past. Schools like Duke, Purdue, Notre Dame and Villanova are some on the names in the air but this year there are others ranking better and playing better ball. Here are the teams involved: Duke, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, California, Louisville, Texas A&M, Utah State, Purdue, Siena, Notre Dame, Old Dominion, Baylor, Sam Houston State, Richmond, St. Mary’s, Villanova and Robert Morris. The top 4 seeded are No.1 Duke as a perpetual powerhouse that finished with a record of 29-5 but this year they don’t look as powerful as other season. Coach K might be in trouble when they face Louisville or Purdue. No.2 Villanova is probably one of the best teams in paper for this tournament but I feel they are overrated and they won’t do such a good job, they have a tough schedule ahead of them. No.3 Baylor is in my opinion the best ball of the region, they could take care of Villanova at on the Sweet 16 round. No.4 Purdue has been playing good and they have been a little humble, their record is not as impressive with 27-5 but they could be making noise right now, they could end up at Elite Eight round facing Duke and they could be the biggest surprise.

My pick in this region will be Baylor Bears to make it to the Final Four.

So here is my PICKS by Region
