This Sunday, February 15th at Daytona International Speedway the annual Daytona 500 goes down to kick off the first major race of the 2009 Sprint Cup. On Thursday the speed trials begin with only the qualifiers in the lineup for Sundays big race. No Doubt you can expect Ryan Newman will look to repeat his 2008 win in the Dodge car, but it will be no easy task with the likes of Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt gunning for him. Below you can find the odds on a few of the favorites for this years Daytona 500.
Listed are the current live odds on the Daytona 500:
Kyle Busch +460 (risk $100 to win $460)
Dale Earnhardt Jr. +550 (risk $100 to win $550)
Tony Stewart +1200 (risk $100 to win $1200)
Jimmy Johnson +700 (risk $100 to win $700)
Jeff Gordon +700 (risk $100 to win $700)
Obviously its a good idea to spread the money around on a big race like this and give yourself more of an advantage. But don’t simply put $10 on 10 different drivers. First of all look at the favorites which are Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr., you want to place maybe $20 on each of these and then start looking at some dark horses like last years winner in Ryan Newman who at +2600 (risk $100 to win $2600) is a sweet bet it if comes through and then last but not least check out the field at +550 which can give you a wide range of options depending on who does and does not qualify for Sunday.
