Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, NC will be the site of Wednesday, December 7th’s NCAA basketball betting showdown between the Colorado State Rams (5-3, 3-4-1 ATS) and the Duke Blue Devils (7-1, 3-5 ATS). This 7:00 ET tipoff will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com.

The Rams have themselves a heck of a mountain to climb on Wednesday night, as flying across the country in a duel at Cameron Indoor against a Duke team that is coming off of a brutal beating is nearly an impossible task.

CSU has only played two road games this year, a bad 64-52 loss at the Stanford Cardinal and an 83-77 setback at the Northern Iowa Panthers. That being said, this is the longest and most nervy trip of the year that this team will have to take.

Many are going to be on the Rams after they topped the Colorado Buffaloes, a team that is expected to challenge for a spot in the NCAA Tournament this year. However, we have a real concern about this team’s defense which has allowed at least 75 points in four of its last five clashes on the NCAA basketball betting lines.

The Dookies really should thrive off of a defense like this one. We have seen them face some setbacks this year offensively as the team gets used to life without names like Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer of recent years, but this game is significantly easier than last week’s road trip at the Ohio State Buckeyes or neutral site game against the Kansas Jayhawks, Michigan Wolverines, and Tennessee Volunteers.

All told, this is a team that is probably more poised for a deep run in the NCAA Tournament than last year’s squad was, as any one of five or six men can step up and hit the big shot when it matters most. In order to beat the NCAA basketball betting odds in this one, we fully expect to see all of Austin Rivers, Seth Curry, Ryan Kelly, and Mason Plumlee score right around their averages. They’re all at least at a dozen points per game. We also expect to see a lot out of Andre Dawkins, who is averaging 8.9 points per game and is expected to shine this year.

NCAA Basketball Betting Prediction – The Blue Devils are only 3-5 ATS to date, but they really don’t have a very comparable game to this one on the slate. Their wins against Belmont and Davidson at home came against significantly better teams than CSU, while the 96-55 shellacking of Presbyterian came in a game against a team that was significantly worse. That being said, we think that the Rams will come in overhyped in this one, and the end result should be a 20+ point victory for the host Dookies.
