The Toronto Argonauts and the Calgary Stampeders kick it off at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Friday, October 14th at 7:30 ET, and we’re set to make our CFL predictions for this intra conference clash! Television coverage is slated to be on TSN.

CFL Betting Lines
Calgary Stampeders (-6.5)
Toronto Argonauts (+6.5)
Over/Under 52.5

Things are about as tight as could be right now for the Stampeders in the West Division, and after losing last week to the surging BC Lions at the newly renovated BC Place, they have their work cut out for them just to make sure they don’t end up on the road for the playoffs. Trying to make CFL playoff predictions in the West Division is impossible right now, as Calgary, BC, and the Edmonton Eskimos are all knotted at 8-6 with just four fixtures to play.

It was a strong offensive effort last week for Calgary, something that hasn’t always been the case of late. QB Henry Burris had a stellar day through the air, including tossing his 20th touchdown pass of the season. He needs 378 passing yards in this one to reach 4,000 for the season, and he still has that coveted 5,000 passing yard barrier in his sights.

It’s the defense that is the root of all concern right now for those making CFL betting predictions on the Stampeders. After posting a great game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, they allowed 33 points against BC, the third time in four weeks and sixth time in eight games in which they have allowed at least 31.

About the only good news right now for sports fans in Toronto is that the Maple Leafs have started playing hockey again. Their Boatmen have already been knocked out of the CFL playoff picture, something that is devastating for a team that had such high hopes coming into the campaign.

Last week, Toronto made for great CFL wagering predictions against the Montreal Alouettes on Thanksgiving Day, sticking in front of a 13.5 point spread in a 29-19 defeat. The Argos had a strong half of football in the first half at Percival Molson Stadium, as they surprisingly led at halftime before the better team finally excelled in the second half.

CFL Odds Predictions – Everything is going against Toronto in this one. It had to play on the road on Monday, and now it has to come back on Friday and play against a team that has two more days of rest to work with. That being said, we tend to think that the Boatmen are going to have their best offensive game in weeks against a Calgary defense that just can’t get out of its own way. We think that the Stamps will win, but it could be a close encounter.
