From the dirt roads of rural Texas to the lobster laden ports of Washington, Bookmaker Sportsbook has you covered with the best MLB betting options for Saturday, September 24th, and everyday throughout the 2011 season, including the AL West contest featuring the Rangers and Mariners from Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. FOX will carry the national television broadcast starting at 4:10 ET as a pair of righties battle on the bump: Alexi Ogando gets the nod for the Rangers while King Felix Hernandez steps up for the M’s.

While some teams are slowing down in the final month of the regular season, the American League West leading Rangers are picking up the pace. As Texas moves closer to the post season, the Rangers have begun watching their magic number dwindle thanks in large part to the team’s offense. Winning all but one of their September series, the Rangers have accounted for the highest batting average, on base percentage and slugging percentage in the Majors.

“I just think we have guys up and down the lineup doing it,” the team’s hitting coach, Scott Coolbaugh said earlier this week. “It’s not one guy, it has been getting collective contributions from everybody. That’s what is so special about our lineup, one through nine anybody can win a game. There’s not just one way of scoring runs, we can scratch out runs and we can hit for power. That’s a good combination.” Whether it’s Josh Hamilton, Ian Kinsler, Michael Young or any of the other talented bats featured in Big D, the Rangers have plenty of weapons that should once again come into play to support Alexi Ogando (13-8, 3.58 ERA) as he toes the rubber on Saturday.

Texas has played to a 90-65 MLB betting record this season, earning backers $802 overall and $469 in Arlington (49-29). As of Thursday, the Rangers are 35-17 in their last 52 games against AL West opponents while the ’over’ is 18-7-3 in Texas’ last 28 games as a favorite.

It’s already been a long year for the Seattle Mariners but at least the team hasn’t waved the white flag just yet. A long September doesn’t seem as bad for Mariners fans because the organization is already looking toward the future, and with a plethora of young talent already in place, perhaps 2012 will breed more success than 2011; Seattle doesn’t just remain at the bottom of the AL West, but the M’s also sport one of the worst records in all of baseball.

“It’s something good, something special,” rookie Alex Liddi said about the team’s youth after Tuesday’s 5-4 win over the Minnesota Twins. “We all came up together through the Minor Leagues and we’ve played together for a while. It’s something really good and comfortable for us.” Liddi, along with Mike Carp and Dustin Ackley look to pave a path of success in the port city, and they’ll certainly have someone to build around in staff ace, Felix Hernandez (14-13, 3.32 ERA), who will be on display once again come Saturday afternoon.

Seattle’s 66-89 MLB betting record has cost gamblers $1658 this season overall and $1097 on the road (30-47). The M’s are also just 8-22 in their last 30 road games versus a right-handed starter.
