Alabama Crimson Tide CBB Odds VS Arkansas Razorbacks NCAAB Betting Online

Log on to and look for the Alabama Crimson Tide to roll past Arkansas on the CBB odds Thursday. For the best odds on all CBB games, wager at the world’s top ranked sportsbook.

The Tide fell to 4-2 in SEC play with a hard luck 54-53 loss at Tennessee on Saturday while still covering the as three-point underdogs. Arkansas is an identical 12-7 overall as Alabama, but the Razorbacks are one-game behind the Tide in the conference standings at 3-3 following a 75-54 blowout road loss Saturday to a South Carolina team ranked only 175th overall on the Pomeroy Ratings.

Alabama is ranked 66th by Pomeroy as the Crimson Tide have always been defensive minded since Anthony Grant took over as the CBB odds head coach. Now the defense this season is not nearly as good as it was last year, when it finished eighth in the country in defensive efficiency and ninth in effective field goal percentage allowed, but it has been good enough to win games in a weak SEC this year.

In fact, despite having the number one team in the country on Pomeroy in Florida, the SEC ranks the worst of the six major conferences overall and is actually the seventh ranked conference in the country. That has helped Alabama win games despite ranking a good but not great 51st in defensive efficiency and 92nd in effective field goal percentage against.

Alabama needs to play good defense because its offense ranks only 103rd in efficiency, but ironically the offense should play a key role here. You see, the Arkansas defense thrives on turning teams over, but when that does not happen, the Razorbacks have been vulnerable defensively, especially on the perimeter.

Well, when looking at SEC conference games only, Alabama ranks second in three-point shooting at 40.2 percent.

The 81st ranked Razorbacks have been playing CBB odds pressure defense since former coach Nolan Richardson’s “40 minutes of hell” days, and this year has been much of the same as the Hogs rank 12th in the land in defensive turnover percentage. However, they still rank just 109th in defensive efficiency as opponents that have been able to break the pressure have then had a fairly easy time of it.

That is because Arkansas ranks 172nd in effective field goal percentage allowed at 48.2 percent while ranking 132nd in two-point defense and a dismal 242nd defending three-pointers. Furthermore, the Razorbacks allow a ton of second chances, ranking 287th in defensive rebounding percentage.

The Arkansas offense has been nothing to write home about, ranking 73rd in efficiency and 116th in effective field goal percentage, and it is 10th in both categories in SEC games, so the Alabama defense should be able to do its job reasonably well.

Free Pick: The Alabama offense does not blow teams away on the CBB odds, but the Tide’s very capable three-point shooting and defense should be enough to keep Arkansas at bay while playing at home.
