NCAAB Betting Online:

The Northwestern Wildcats (18-12, 13-11-1 ATS) are the only major conference school to have never been to the NCAA Tournament in CBB betting, but they could start correcting that vs. the Minnesota Golden Gophers (18-13, 14-13-1 ATS) in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN on Thursday, Match 8th at 5:30 ET on ESPN2.

The Wildcats are currently on the bubble as far as the Big Dance goes, but one win in this tournament might be enough to finally get them in while two wins would almost certainly do the trick; especially considering the Big Ten is the top ranked conference in the country according to the Pomeroy Ratings.

Northwestern is certainly catching a struggling opponent in the first round as Minnesota’s win vs. a bad Nebraska team in the regular season finale snapped a six-game losing streak. In fact, the Golden Gophers ended the season by going 3-8 SU in its last 11 games while only beating a Nebraska team that finished last in the Big Ten twice and an Illinois team that finished up on a 2-11 SU run itself.

Current Line at Bookmaker: Northwestern (-2½), Total 130

Northwestern is doing its best to earn that first NCAA bid, as in the last five games, the Wildcats are 3-2 SU while losing to Ohio State by two points and to Michigan in overtime. They might already be off the bubble had they been able to finish the job in one of those two losses, but to their credit, the Cats did win on the road at Iowa on the CBB betting odds in the season finale following the tough loss to Ohio State.

Now the Wildcats still play at the same deliberate pace that they always have, ranking 293rd in the country with a tempo rating of 63.4 possessions per game, but they rank an amazing 15th in offensive efficiency and 17th in effective filed goal percentage while handling the ball exceptionally well, ranking ninth in turnover percentage.

These teams ended up splitting their two regular season meetings with the home team winning by double-digits on each occasion, but this game is at a neutral site in Indianapolis and Northwestern was the better of these two teams away from home this season, in fact breaking even at 7-7 SU while Minnesota went 5-7 SU. As mentioned, the Wildcats are also in the better current form.

This is not to say that Minnesota is not a dangerous team here, as the Golden Gophers are definitely capable of winning this CBB betting odds match-up if they can return to the fine form they displayed earlier this season.

The Gophers were sitting with a 15-5 record after beating these Wildcats emphatically 75-52 at Minneapolis on January 22, but that was immediately followed by the season ending 3-8 stretch that included a 64-53 loss at Northwestern.

We will go with the team in the better current form here and look for the Wildcats to advance to the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament.

CBB Betting Pick: Take the Northwestern Wildcats (-2½) Thursday

Will Northwestern take that first step toward an elusive NCAA bid or will Minnesota squash those dreams with a first round victory? For the highest limits and fastest payouts, back your opinion on this and other CBB betting lines at Bookmaker, the most respected sportsbook in the world.

Los Angeles Clippers Lines VS San Antonio Spurs Odds

NBA Lines – Blake Griffin and the Clippers to Finally Topple the Spurs in San Antonio

Written by North Shore Sports, INC

Division leaders headline Friday night’s NBA lines slate at Bookmaker Sportsbook with Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers set to take on Tony Parker and the San Antonio Spurs.

BookMaker Sportsbook

NBA Betting Online:

Two of the Western Conference’s elite are set to collide against the NBA lines on Friday, March 9th in San Antonio where the Spurs (25-12, 21-15-1 ATS) and Los Angeles Clippers (22-14, 20-16 ATS) will partake in their final tussle of the regular season; tip-off from the AT&T Center is scheduled to go at 8:30 ET on NBA League Pass.

The Clippers have alternated wins and losses in each of their last seven games heading into Wednesday night’s road clash in New Jersey. Because of it, the division rival Lakers caught them in the standings and they now both sit firmly atop the Pacific. Last “Lob City” took to the hardwood, it dropped a heartbreaker at Minnesota in a game that saw Kevin Love erupt for 39 points and 17 rebounds en route to securing the Timberwolves the 95-94 triumph. The Clippers did however manage to stick within the closing three-point spread to move to 3-1 against the NBA lines in their last four games.

Tonight’s match-up with the Spurs will close out LA’s six-game road trip post All Star break. They kicked the roady off with a win and cover at Sacramento, but followed it up with a tough loss to the Suns in the desert before splitting their next two with Houston and Minnesota. In splitting the four games, the Clippers will oppose the Nets on the back of 10-9 SU & ATS records away from the Staples Center. Los Angeles has fared decently against the best the league has to offer going 8-6 SU versus the Sagarin Ratings’ Top 10 teams.

The Spurs went into the All Star break with a head of steam winning eight of their nine games on the “Rodeo Trip” which included triumphs over the Atlantic Division leading Philadelphia 76ers , Los Angeles Clippers, and Denver Nuggets. However since, Head Coach Gregg Popovich’s squad has been humbled dropping two of the first three games of their seven-game home stand. The only win of the bunch came against the defunct Charlotte Bobcats with the pair of losses coming against the Chicago Bulls, and most recently, the Denver Nuggets.

The pair of losses against the NBA betting lines to those top tier teams dropped the Spurs to 10-5 SU versus the Sagarin Ratings’ Top 10 teams. San Antonio will have a home clash against Jeremy Lin and the Knicks before this one looking to improve upon their impressive 14-3 SU & 11-6 ATS records as a host. While the team defense has stepped it up since the break giving up an average of just 89.0 PPG (6+ points less than season average of 95.1 PPG), the offense has suffered scoring just 89, 102, and 94 points its L/3 games (95.0 PPG) – nearly 4.0 PPG less than their 98.9 seasonal average (#4).

NBA Lines Selection: The Spurs have won and covered both of these teams earlier meetings this season winning 115-90 (-4.5) at home back in late December and then scoring the 103-100 (+3) OT win at the Staples Center in mid February. LA will be out to avoid the sweep no doubt, and with them 7-6 ATS as an underdog to date as well as 3-2 SU & 4-1 ATS when dogged by six-points or less the L/5 times, we’re going to back them to do just that. Though San Antonio once again leads the Southwest, we’re just not believers in them much like we weren’t a year ago either when they won the West only to get upset by the 8th seeded Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs.

So will the Clippers avoid the season sweep and cover the NBA lines in the regular season finale with San Antonio, or will the Spurs win their 18th straight when hosting this rivalry? Back your opinion on this and other pro hardwood match-ups at Bookmaker Sportsbook, the most reliable sportsbook with the fastest payouts in the business.

Montana Grizzlies Lines VS Weber State Wildcats Odds

CBB Odds – Montana Grizzlies to growl past Weber State in Big Sky Final Wednesday

Written by North Shore Sports, INC

NCAAB Betting Online:

Montana (24-6, 16-9-1 ATS) is the only Big Sky Conference team ranked in the Pomeroy Top 100, so look for the Grizzlies to advance to the Big Dance with a win on the CBB odds over the Weber State Wildcats (24-5, 12-12-3 ATS) in the conference final at Dahlberg Arena in Missoula, MT on Wednesday, March 7th at 9:00 ET on ESPN2.

This game is being played on Montana’s home floor, where the Grizzlies are 15-2 straight up and 7-6-1 against the CBB odds this season while winning by an average of 12.0 points per game. The reason for the modest ATS home mark is that the Grizzlies are often prohibitive favorites here. In fact, they were installed as double-digit favorites in seven off their 14 lined home games.

That does not figure to be the case tonight however, as Montana was only favored by 5½ points over Weber State when these clubs met here in the regular season finale and the Grizzlies promptly won by 15 points.

Montana is the top ranked Big Sky team by Pomeroy at 97th overall and Weber State is the second highest ranked team at 127th, so this tournament has played true to form. However, we feel that the combination of a far superior defense and a tough home court gives Montana a decided edge in this game.

It is not often that great defense and the Big Sky Conference are used in the same sentence, but that is precisely why Montana is where it is right now, as its defense sets it apart from the other defenseless teams on the CBB odds in the conference. Montana ranks an incredible 35th in the entire country in adjusted defensive efficiency while every single other team in the Big Sky is ranked worse than 200!

The Grizzles are on a 13-game winning streak and they are 19-1 in their last 20 games with the lone loss coming at Weber State, a loss avenged handily last week as mentioned. Montana is ranked 23rd in effective field goal percentage against and 63rd in forcing turnovers, and it has taken advantage of Big Sky teams that are quite frankly not used to being defended well.

The flip side is that Montana ranks 178th on offensive efficiency, but it is not as if the Grizzlies are inept when they have the ball as they do rank 50th in effective field goal percentage. Their Achilles Heel is rebounding, as they do not get many second chances while ranking only 292nd nationally in offensive rebounding percentage.

The good news for Weber State is that it has the second best defensive efficiency in the Big Sky on the CBB betting odds. The bad news is that still translates to just 211th in the country. Also, the Wildcats are actually a worse offensive rebounding team than Montana, ranking a disgusting 310th in that category.

In a game where neither team figures to get many second opportunities, look for the Grizzlies defense to make all the difference and allow for them to punch their ticket to the dance!

CBB Odds Prediction: Take the Montana Grizzlies on Wednesday

If you think that Montana should prevail rather handily here, or even if you feel that Weber State is a bit of an overlay in this spot, you can strongly back your opinion on all CBB odds at Bookmaker Sportsbook, the book with the biggest limits in the business.
